Fictionvision: I used to do default, but after the little stunt they pulled with Botanicula I make sure to 0 out the tip now.

orcishgamer: Umm, you can do what you want but that was certainly not HIB's fault, that was squarely on the developer. I hope you weren't happily rewarding the dev for their bad behavior while blaming the wrong party...
That was the only bundle I never purchased actually, so no I didn't reward them for it.

Even if Amanita were the cause for it, I still feel that the people deserving the money most are the devs for making the games.

That's one of the only 2 I didn't buy either, for the same reasons. I do wholly blame Amanita for it though. The HIB fellows have proven themselves awesome 7 ways from Sunday, I seriously doubt they knew about it until it was too late to change anything based solely on their past behavior.

Well in the future I'll reconsider (I did a bit for today too actually before I bought mine.), but I have bought many in the past for myself and gifts above the average, so I haven't left them hanging with bandwidth costs like people that pay a cent.

I did cheap out on the Voxatron one though, I was short on cash so I only paid $2 which I also set to go to the devs.
I usually pay about $10 for it, and presuming that's what I pay:
$5 goes to charity- most/all of that goes to Child's Play, depending on what other charity/s are on there.
$1 goes to the Humble people- pay for the transaction, at least.
$4 goes to the devs in an even split. (even if I have a game, or don't want a game)

Why does charity get more than the devs? Partly 'cause the devs are (in theory) doing something they love, while Child's Play is using those funds to bring the gift of happiness to sick children.
Up to this bundle I went with default split, but this time I gave all to the devs.

Thanks everyone. Right now I am thinking I will pay $10 - $1 to HIB, $9 to the devs. I will give the devs of the games I actually want a little more than the devs of the games I don't want.

Nice smile!
Aw, that's the happiest-looking coelacanth I've ever seen.

htown1980: Just so you know, there is a little arrow next to "Developers" on the page, if you click on that, it opens up a panel that lets you mix up how much is going to each individual developer.
Damn, I didn't know that!

Well, I usually go with the "normal" allocation.

What the f'ck are you doing on German tabloid pages? There is no porn to be fund there. (Well, only softcore, but that hardly constitutes porn anymore).

50% tip, 25% dev, 25% charity.

I like to reward Humble for making the whole thing happen.
80% Devs
20% Humble tip

I've not put any to charity since HB2 - 3
I trust the defaults to be reasonable because the people running it show time and again to be reasonable people.

I always put all to devs and Humble guys also. Since you are from Finland too, maybe in here we are just not accustomed to all this charity thing, as we pay charity through our high taxes already (which are channeled to helping Spanish, French and German banks).
Bought. At least I now kept my long-time promise to buy SPAZ as soon as I see it DRM-free. :)

Does Humble Bundle usually keep their DRM-free versions up to date? Mainly I was thinking if the SPAZ developers still keep churning out new content and updates for their game, as they used to?

On the contrary, finns tend to be very charitable folk but we have plenty of charities of our own so we probably give money to local charities rather than their international or foreing counterparts. We also give lots to NGO's (yhdistykset) who work towads improving things locally, after all, we do have our own problems as well.

However, I don't think you find that many people here that actually support the massive aid packages (while portrayed as loans, no one really believes we get a cent of it back) we shovel into black hole that is southern Europe. It's not even charity as it helps only deptors that caused the Euro crisis in the first place. They should simply either default/write off all the depts to large financial institutions and countries or go backrupt and rebuild from there. All the money we've sunk there are lost anyway and sinking more only worsens our own dept situation and makes it more likely that we too fall when the inevitable catastrophe happens.

My older bundles have been updated since the bundle sales closed so, yes, games are being updated (same way as GOG does, ie. the installers are updated) but speed depends on the publisher as they are the ones who provide the patches.

Well, I don't read German so I don't know how to find the good stuff;)
