I'm not on the net often but came over to GOG and saw the news about those who pre-ordered Botanicula getting free stuff.

Maybe I'm not understanding this correctly but it seems as if I still have 13 days to buy Botanicula at humblebundle.com and get the free stuff like Machinarium. Why then would I buy it at GOG and only get Botanicula just cause I din't pre-order.

Not being funny or anything, just asking, it seems logical
Until the Botanicula Debut ends Humble is the best place to buy the game. That's just the way it is.

They give out freebies because of the stunt of the Botanicula makers to add it to HIB directly after preorder. The free stuff is not for new buyers, too.
Honestly gog should do somthing like this: until the humble bundle is over, gog should just sell the humble bundle and you can also decide how much of your purchase goes to gog. Probably too late to set that up... but still...

Protoss: If you buy it at humble bundle you get the game plus machinarium and 2 other games and if you spend more than the average price, you get a movie. well that's what it says on their site. you can get that right now.

What I 'm really saying is that surely gog could offer a bundle to those buying the game now for the next 13 days just like humble bundle. GOG is losing business because everybody who buys Botanicula now would be stupid not to get it at HB.

Yes, there is no reason to buy it on GOG now.

The Humble Bundle is not something GOG, or any other store, can sell.
OK, was just making sure. Would love to support GOG, but how can I resist a free copy of Machinarium :-)

Agreed, they can give the pre-order folks Machinarium and Witcher etc free but not the others. Just doesn't make sense. I've got nothing against the people who pre-ordered getting discount or something extra, but paying GOG $9.99 and getting no extra's is simply idiotic to put it bluntly.

You're saying that like GOG is to blame, which it's absolutely not. All the fault lies with the numbnuts at Amanita.

GOG.com is not to blame here. They are the victim in this case.

I don't ever think I said GOG was to blame, I simply want to know why they could offer the pre-order folk freebies and not the rest of us. In a way GOG is forcing us to go and buy this from Humble Bundle. There is NO reason why GOG cannot offer Machinarium as a freebie to everybody who buys Botanicula ........and I have nothing against those who pre-ordered getting a bit more than us didn't. Why not those who pre ordered get Botanicula, Machinarium and Witcher and those who buy now get Botanicula and Machinarium. That way everybody scores. Anyway, it doesn't really matter at this stage, I'll just pick my copy up from Humble Bundle if need be.

Because, the people who pre-ordered are the ones who are going to be the ones who feel like they got cheated. They are the ones who are going to be mad about paying $9 when three times the content at a penny comes up. It's not fair to them, and they took a gamble with the pre-order anyway, so it makes sense for them to at least be supported. For the rest of us, so what. We have options. A bunch of us are still going to buy from GOG though. So, those without pre-orders have options so that they don't feel ripped off, those WITH pre-orders can feel less like they were ripped off, and you're going to bug out on not getting the same value for not taking risk on an order. Nobody's stopping you from going to Humble Bundle, but we're going to expect that you at least will put a decent and fair amount in, and plug most of that to Humble and Charity.

Unfortunately, that's just the deal Amanita gave GOG to do some minimal damage control. If Amanita offered to give GOG pre-order customers everything in the Humble Bundle, GOG would not have to get CDPR into the mix and give away free copies of The Witcher.

Remember, those that didn't pre-order didn't really get screwed over. If you're planning on making the purchase at this point in time, buying the Humble Bundle will be your best deal, and GOG cannot compete with a $0.01 minimum price for the game. And this is exactly why GOG has been screwed over by Amanita -- they marketed the game expecting good sales at launch, but essentially they are getting nothing for the hype they've created, because the first 2 weeks of this game's sales are all going to be made at Humble Bundle.
