GOG paid $300 for the bundle. Keeping the average high, ey? ;)

orcishgamer: Well, one could buy on GOG and then get the humble bundle version for 1 USD (enough to cover the HIB fellow's transaction fees). There ya go, you rewarded GOG and got the extra stuff (at least some of it).
no need you get basicly all of it (except the beat the average and samo) tomorrow

mushy101: A lot of mixed emotions and anger, and I agree with most of it. Please mail the devs, since they must be trying to get away with this, so don't let them. Also buy the game from HIB if you please, but make sure the devs get the least amount of money, or non at all. Hell, put your money where your mouth is, buy the game off of GoG now, or in the future, denying the sale and send a message to devs that they don't mess with a company like GoG. Channel this anger into something productive, since money talks the loudest in this situation.

gooberking: I don't think they will be getting away with much of anything. Its not just some move that screws over GOG or other single seller distributors, its a move that serves to drastically undercut their own profit potential. Unless they just aren't interested in making money its probably a dumb move against themselves.

Ideally they should seek to have their game sold to people on the first day at the highest price to people that are willing to pay the premium for being the first in line and THEN sell it low to appeal to the price conscious buyers that won't pay debut prices. By doing this they are flooding the market with low cost copies with no incentive to pay more. Almost like leaking your own game on to a pirate site. The kicker is they won't really be seeing the money. Kudos if they want to give all their profits to charity but then why drag sellers into the mix? Publicity?
The good news is that they now haven't, extra goodies for the people who pre ordered from here incoming tomorrow, which is great since I have now ANOTHER game on this site, for free.

The thinking behind this decision?? I think the 'almighty' dollar, But it'll bite them in the ass since they just screwed over TWO revenue streams, one which marketed thier game for quite some time too.

GoG guys (the people who run this site) are classy as usual, though. :)
It'd be nice if Amanita Design threw in a Samorost 1 installer as a GOG exclusive. It's already available for free on their website but it'd be nice to have a non-browser copy.

Gog is going to offer cross platform builds tomorrow? Source?

Did I miss a GOG update?

mushy101: Very probable, I also hope they make a move into making legal action a follow up if indies break that rule.
I think that suing indie devs could really hurt GOG. Don't forget that their sister company's attempt to sue pirates caused a massive uproar.

More likely they'd just have their games removed.

The devs posted it on the Bot FB page along the lines of "gog preorders will get the full soundtrack the artbook and machinarium tomorrow"

No, you didn't. But it's on the Amanita forums. I suppose GOG team will confirm that (or not) tomorrow. Take in account that it's 0:40 right now on Europe ;)

Odd, I'd have thought they'd go ahead and do that through the duration of the HIB, not just for pre-orders, dunno, seems like an attempt, just not quite amends.

Exactly what I did. :)

Now the only thing I might be missing is the art-book, unless GOG makes it available for all buyers of Botanicula (as opposed to just the ones who pre-ordered it).

Btw, I find it a bit odd when I read about people buying Amanita's games without wanting to support them. Yes, this move doesn't come across as sympathetic, but if you actually play and like their games, does it feel right to you to completely deny the developers any payment? If you don't like them anymore and don't want to give them any support for their work, wouldn't it be more consequent to just skip buying their games? :/

Amanita just need to come out and say: We screwed up :) And apologizing to GOG team would be nice ;)

Think of it more as "I like your games but your marketing sucks and you messed up, so see this money that could have been yours? it's now going to charity"
did anyone else notice the second to top contributor is @GOGcom - $300?

[i can't be bothered going through all the comments - sorry if someone already has]
