Here I am playing my very 1st console.

The first console I owned was a SNES (4th generation) although I have played a few games on earlier systems.
By birth I say SNES/Genesis but I was to young to remember, but I do remember buying our first N64 and immdiatly played it when me and bro brought it back to out Grandmother's house.
I had a hand-me-down 2600 when I was 7 - Does that make me the youngest to be here from the start?
It all started with the Atari 2600 :D and a cartridge of Asteroids.
Based on that wikipedia article, I started at the second generation with an Intellivision. I've owned at least one system from generations 2-7. A used Wii was a recent purchase, meant mostly to replace my broken Gamecube. So for the most part, I stopped at 6.

2: Intellivision
3: NES, SMS add-on to the Genesis (does that count?)
4: SNES, Genesis, TG16
5: N64, PS, Saturn
6: GameCube, Dreamcast, Xbox
7: Wii

My parents hated console game machine in house,so I almost lost NES(called "Family computer" in Japan) exprience in those days. Probably, first console machine was SNES,and most impressive one is Sega Saturn, after that I stopped to have any console machines.
My first consoles were the 2600 and the colecovision. THough I wish I had an atari 800 computer rather than the 2600
At 54, "all of 'em"

I own most of the consoles from the 2600 to the Wii-U. The notable exceptions are the Sega Saturn (I have a Dreamcast, though), an XBox One, and the PS4 - I'll probably end up getting these as well at some point...

Console generations? No idea, I don't keep track. I was born the same year the first Macintosh arrived.

I have, however, owned 4 gaming consoles so far: NES, Gameboy, Xbox 360, and Playstation 2 - purchased in that order. The first one was (regrettably) sold after a few years, the second might still be available somewhere, the last two are readily accessible.

pimpmonkey2382: I was born in the 2600 era and started with one.
Ditto...
My first console was an Atari XE, so I started with the third generation. Then a NES, a Gameboy, a Sega Genesis, a PS1, a Dreamcast, a PS2, a Gamecube, a GBA, a DS, a PSP, an XBOX 360, a Wii and finally a PS3. Not sure if I'm going to the next generation, I haven't seen much that interests me yet.
Started my console gaming with an Atari 2600 competitor Colecovision which had an Atari adapter and could play cartridges for both, I figure today there would be all kinds of intellectual property violations and lawsuits over that kind of cross platform compatibility.

Started PC gaming only a short while later though and that seemed to have much more potential for me, so I haven't owned every generation of consoles, just those with particular games that drew me back in; however, I've enjoyed playing on friends and relatives consoles all along the way.

Though the line is starting to blur because of steambox and pc gamepad compatibility. Since many PC games can now be played with gamepads and in many cases IMO are better with gamepad. While I don't necessarily like the DRM of Steam I do like what they're trying to do in regards to the steambox. Some thought the Xbox would be the console killer and would be completely compatible with PC games because of the Microsoft brand, but, history has proved that wasn't the case and they have been developed entirely independent of the OS for PC.

Interested to see where it goes in the future.
I'm 36, so quite a few. The earliest I remember was a Pong clone my dad owned. Consoles didn't really catch on here until much later though. The first one I owned was a PS2. Before that I went from C64 to Amiga 500 to PC. Still mostly a PC player. I have a PS3, but I mostly use it as a media center.
