Michagogi23: what i find fascinating (and kind of nice though to keep my jealousy down) is that the people who actually lived in australia dont necessarily seem to be like OMFG BEST PLACE EVER! you make a good point in highlighting the pros and cons. here in germany, i have the feeling that australia is always marketed as heaven on earth, and i wish i would live in australia daily. maybe that is a bit of markting talk as well. so maybe i should jsut enjoy the good parts that germany has to offer ;)

yeah thats the stuff we hear here. "oh australians are so laid back and they dont have any stress ever". and stress/burnout is probably the main thing people and germany complain about. then again germans just generally like to complain much ;)
It's pretty good.

ovoon: So I live in Oregon, and have my whole life. I'm 19, single, and I work at Symantec. I love my job. I've always wanted to live in a foreign country for a few years, to see what it's like, and I figured that now is one of the few chances I'll get at doing something as pointless and crazy as that.
Move to California. Problem solved.
I like to say this:

I am considering moving to another country when I am older, but I like to know more about them.

I always consider either moving to Canada or Spain, but I like to know:

1.Are they good places for an immigrant to live in, there is not that much xenophobia?

2. How are the countries economically wise?

That's L.A., never been that far south. The cultural thing really isn't why I made the post there as that relatively negligible. What gets to visitors is that they (not all, I don't want someone jumping on me for making a blanket statement) honestly seem to think they live in a separate country. My brother was born and lives out there and he seems to actually believe that when you hit Tahoe and the mountains the known universe ends and you find yourself looking into some abyss of nothing. Only in California when you ask where someone is from will they say "Native Californian". Put together a group of exchange students in a room you will hear a lot of 'I'm from France' 'I'm from Germany' 'I'm from Japan' and then you'll hear, 'I'm from California'. I used to find it charming, now I just find it annoying and condescending.

Spidfers bigger than dogs. That's pretty much everything I need to know about Australia to stay the hell away.

Yeah agreed, it does cover a lot of California. I just get hung up on the South Central part because that tends to bookend the game.

Makes me more excited for GTA 5 which takes place back in LA (Los Santos its called ingame) and they say it will have the biggest overworld than San Andreas, 4, and Red Dead Redemption.

What are the odds of them placing collectibles in the same places they were in in LA Noire?

That was an interesting article. I spent some time in the UK and it's not far from the truth, although if you're honest about your country and don't act like you're better than the people you're talking with, it's quite easy to get trashed on 5 quid.

(My most controversial opinion)

This is why I personally think nation states needs to die and all nations should unite as one world.

Individuality breeds conflict and bigotry.
