I have special interest in System Shock 2, Grim Fandango and Wet: The Sexy Empire.

I have voted for them, but when I typed any kind of clue in search it would just pop up with load of off topic.

So I thought it would be nice to have a topic that explains everything, how many votes a game needs to be published here for sale? I can see Wet doesn't have too many votes, does that mean it will never be available? Who do we need to bribe/sleep with in order to get what we want? (jokes)

If there is already a topic that explains all of this and by some mystique occurrence my search adventure missed it, please feel free to delete this topic and send me into the classroom corner where I can kneel on the peeled corn seeds until lunch break. (jokes again)

I'm pretty sure all it does is gives them something to show a prospective business partner when trying to sign. I suppose it also gives an idea as to how much time and effort to expend, but in general it doesn't really do anything.

One of the reasons why they took the link away was that voting for games doesn't have any direct impact and a game like system shock can get a huge number of votes and never be made available. Or at least that's my understanding of that.

EDIT: Wet, could come here if Take 2 gets signed.

The wishlist does absolutely nothing. When it originally appeared on the site, it was simply a tool designed to prevent the overwhelming number of "I want this game" threads from continuing to flood the forums. Since there was absolutely no moderation of the list it became even more pointless as nearly every big name game had multiple duplicate entries and resident "funny men" started adding absurd game titles. Finally GOG removed all links to it, supposedly because they were going to work on it and make it actually usable. That was about 6 months ago now and we've heard no word on when it might officially be back.

Didn't they mention it'd be one of the updates coming now? Or is my memory malfunctioning again?
I'll leave this topic as unsolved, in hopes it will lure in a GoG crew member who could shed some more light onto the matter.

Thank you for your explanations hedwards and cogadh :)

I think you're glitching, I don't remember the wishlist even being brought up when they mentioned this week's site updates.

Oh bugger. I'll need to fix that then, better get a decent screwdriver.
