Your friend is correct but at the same time he is weird. Just imagine him talking about stalker and mentioning the title several times.


If the acronym can be pronounced as a word, saying it as a word is better. If it cannot be, such as CSI, FBI, then letter by letter is the winner.

I prefer it that way, but it's difficult to say after eating too much cheese, makes the hard second G a little difficult; then it goes a bit Welsh.

I'll put it like this, do you pronounce it afk or A-F-K? How about WWE, UFC, VHS (I really want to hear how you pronounce this one if not by spelling it).
Since GOG started as an acronym, the only way to pronounce it is as an acronym.

GOG has a flow to it so it can be a word, WWE, for example, doesn't.

Exclusively /'ge: 'o: 'ge:/ in Finnish, but both Gee Oh Gee and gog in English. Quite inconsistent of me, you might think, but I think it's partly caused by the fact that there is no /g/ sound in native Finnish words so it would sound really foreign and weird, not to mention people probably wouldn't know what I was on about anyway, which would add to the confusion.

Lol. How many times are you in a situation where you are talking about GOG.com after too much cheese? And how much cheese is too much cheese?

I say in English: G O G ("GeeOhGee"), every letter pronounced separatelly. And in Spanish the same thing ("GéOGé" / "JéOJé"), when I speak with my brother and friends.

I call it Good Old Games. What can I say? I'm a traditionalist.

I say gog, like that. Not that anyone reads "lol" as l . o . l . :P
