SirPrimalform: I didn't see anything about them adding activation back in...

The only thing I saw is that they plan to remove it on or before 9/5/12, nothing about adding it back in (which is a good thing).

I thought, that the One-time-activation might shrug off some new buyers, maybe, and only wanted to tell that it has to be activated.

Much much better than my German.

I wrote to them a few months ago asking about the DRM and they said they were planning to remove it. It's nice to see them say it publicly though. I'm tempted to buy it now, but I think I'll wait (I'm hoping they'll see a small sales spike when they remove the DRM :P ).

Wow, there's literally no reason to not buy this game now. It's 9.95 USD on Amazon.com right now and worth every penny.

Unless that's a sale price and the game is normally $39.95, I think I'll wait until May. I have a crapload of other games to be playing anyway.

That's normal price, sale has been 4.99 in the past. I'd encourage you to take a second look, this game is actually really that special.

Don't get me wrong: I think the game looks amazing, I just don't see any reason to get it right this moment. Since I'm in the middle of a bunch of other games, I can wait a couple of months.

Ahhhhhhhhhh I just got teased so bad. I got the game when orcishgamer first started this thread and played it awhile on the family computer. My computer doesn't have windows and wine didn't work when I tried it last. But I had a new install with a new wine version and tried that. Son of a B, it worked! but I get like 1 frame every 2 seconds so its totally unplayable.

So close. I really thought I had it for a second there.


As someone who has tinkered off an on with game making for a lot of years and gotten nowhere, the idea that a couple of guys put this together in a couple of years is quite impressive and worth rewarding.

That's pretty much the only version (apart from maybe Impulse?) that isn't going to have its DRM removed in a couple of months. :P

That's what Steam always does. Generally 1-2 weeks before it gets cheaper anywhere else.
Gamersgate had it on sale at least twice (-50%, I think)
But Orcish is right: the game itself and the devs are worth every penny and more...
btw: did one of you preorder 'Starfarer' yet? Seems to be a playable version, and will be DRM free obviously.
