I had a filter surgically implanted in the back of my throat and whenever I want coffee; I place a small amount in my mouth along with very hot water and that takes care of it for me ;-)

That might also be a type of Toddy,, I don't really know. I just know that the cold brew coffee is called Toddy when done in this fashion. It might use a similar process, I don't know.

EDIT: According to wikipedia there are a fair number of different types of Toddy and there is indeed a tea that goes by that name as well.

There may have been more going on than I remember. Now that I think of it, there may have been touching involved, but even that seems a bit of a stretch for a prostitution charge. Under that line of reasoning one couldn't sell hugs and Santa Claus could get arrested for charging for services.

I have a basic drip coffee machine and buy value brand coffee... the value brand is mostly a budget thing. I set up my coffee maker at night and leave it on a timer, so when I wake up there's half a pot waiting for me since the girlfriend doesn't drink it.

Also, I drink it black. It's like coffee's hardcore mode.

Good to know. I wouldn't expect coffee to be a problem, but any time you're dealing with agricultural products, there's the chance for customs problems. Usually it's things like fruits and vegetables that are still capable of being grown that are banned or restricted.

Although I know animal products are banned from being brought into China without clearance, probably due to similar problems.

In Poland we say that we make coffee in a Turkish way when we place grinded coffee into a cup/glass and just pour it with boiling water :-P.
This is how I like it most – with fat milk or cream.

Occasionally I also drink instant coffee but truth to be told I can hardly call it coffee – it’s rather coffee-like beverage which I cannot stand without milk.

It's a cold brew form of coffee that takes about 13 hours to brew a batch, but from there you can either add hot water for hot coffee or ice and milk for cold coffee. It's great because it lacks the bitterness that you often times find in hot brewed coffee and it means you can get a cup of hot coffee in barely any more time than a nescafe stick.

The link is very similar to the process I go through. It's a bit of work up front, but the results are worth it, especially if you like iced coffees. I think most decent coffee shops do something similar. (Read, not Starbucks)

Aah, cold-brewing. I sometimes make a huge bottle of cold brew during summer, and drink it pure, with an ice cube or two. Very smooth and full, though I would miss the more acidic flavors if it would be all I drank.
For those interested, you don't need a Toddy at all, though I assume that they're pretty convenient. I often use a French Press, or just a big jar and a coffee filter. Here's a recipe: http://www.ineedcoffee.com/06/cold-brewed/
I show up at the local gas station, fill a cup half way with "High Octane blend" coffee and then top it off with some hot chocolate from the machine.
Presto, a ghetto cafe mocha.

JaqFrost: Come to Vietnam: smooth silky coffee with a soft aroma like none other. :) I tend to skip the condensed milk, though -- too sweet, but in summer it's a nice treat over ice.

Before I moved here, I lived in China and it was all 3-in-1 instant Nescafe coffee sticks and the cheapest coffee maker I could find for purchase was RMB 800.

lowyhong: I would kill for a serving of coffee from Vietnam. I took Vietnamese 1 during one semester, and we had a social gathering comprising of local and Vietnamese students, as part of a culture-learning experience. One of the Vietnamese teachers brought coffee she brewed herself.

That was the best coffee I'd ever tasted!
Trung nguyen, (ledgendee?) and a phin filter.. It makes the best iced coffee in the world! apparently it is enzyme treated similar to when the civets eat coffee and, you know, "digest" it for you. It is pricey but worth it.

I make coffee in a stupor, mumbling about how it's my best and only friend and how mean the doctor and pharmacist were when they told me to avoid coffee..

Anyway, the method I use. I like this Paulig Brazil coffee. I take two coffee spoonfuls of it, put 'em in my coffee pot thing, pour in boiling water, wait 5 minutes, pour the coffee into a mug, wait 15 minutes or more for it to cool down, then drink it.
Used to make it with a grinder and french press. But recently, the brand we happen to buy doesn't offer whole beans anymore.

So we use our Mr Coffee. Simple, quick, and not messy.
My favourite coffee is made with the following ingredients:

Primary Component: raw antonican coffee bean(1)
Build Component 1: milk(1)
Build Component 2: raw antonican coffee bean(2)
Fuel Component 1: Glowing kindling(4)

Put it on the Stove & Keg and after a little while you get Creamed Antonican Coffee.


Edit: Just to clarify, I don't drink coffee because I don't like the taste of it, and one of the most memorable gaming moments for me was the Everquest 2 update note saying that coffee now takes less time to make in the game than in real life.
