orcishgamer: I just want me some of that muddy coffee it makes, that's all:)
Brass Ibrik (μπρίκι), add water, coffee and sugar, put it on fire (better yet, really hot sand, don't ask me how/where to find it). Once the water starts to boil, remove Ibrik from fire, and serve in a cup. Add milk to taste. This will have a coffee with froth (καϊμάκι), though some people prefer their coffee without. In that case, you remove the Ibrik from the flame, and as soon as the water settles down again, you put it back on the fire for a second boil.
The Ibrik does not really need to be brass, though that is the traditional one. You could make it with an electrical stove, though usually it's done with open flame (CampingGaz stove or equivalent). As for the sand, you will usually encounter it in the shops that need to make a lot of them. More or less it's a pan filled with sand, and left on an open fire. The sand will get hot, and it will retain the heat, so it can boil the water.

keeveek: Also, I don't do drugs!
You are much better off without them, also too damn expensive.
Castration is not an option.
Can someone tell me what that means?
I press a button, coffee comes out. You can't explain that.

keeveek: It's disgusting.
You should really try coffee made from beans that went through the intestines of a forrest cat. ^^
Im not talking about that. Im talking about the comment above my comment.

Sounds expensive. We should give it a silly name.

I have a feeling you don't want that explained. :))

orcishgamer: - I have a vacuum press as well
This thing? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FxIs2GVsqgY
Seems like a fun way to make coffee. How's the result?
well step one is you force feed coffee beans to an elephant or civit cat....

on 2nd thought skip all that it sounds terrible. And I'm american. So... go get kcup place in machine enjoy fake coffee that definitely has not been predigested

Then again In college used to just chew grounds because I thought that was faster for some reason, and now I drink energy drinks instead. So one of those 2 is more my answer.

edit- Crackerjacked....thats the real American way. Caffeinated popcorn.

It's literally the cleanest, best tasting coffee you'll get (disclaimer, I've never tried cold pressed, so if that's better I'm simply ignorant). The same quality difference between drip and french press is also present between french press and vac press. It's a bit easier to screw up, though, you don't want a lot of dust in your grind or you'll clog that little filter between the two pots.

It's a fucking great conversations starter. He did it on his stove because he has gas (you can do it on electric if you want, it's just a bit more annoying), and my pot is removable and will do that, but I have a ceramic and metal stand that holds mine and fits a butane burner underneath, so you can do an after dinner coffee right in the middle of your table while you're chatting:)

Aah, that seems great :) Thanks for the elaboration, I definitely want one now!
A bit extreme way of making coffee:

I didnt participate in this myself, but seems enough people did. Usually I am not in too hurry to make coffee...but I do prefer it faster than this.

I think cold press pretty much has to be done the night before:)
