mari29: I sometimes play one, but usually it's two and seldom three. I like to play to the finish, but if I keep dying or getting killed, then I'll give it a rest and play another game to give myself a break.

Right now I'm playing Outlast and Bioshock Infinite.
Personally, I like to play 1 or 2 games at a time. More or less for the immersion experience and appreciation of the finer or subtler points of a games story/detail. I like either replaying one or playing something casual or arcade like just to change it up without too much distraction. I'm currently replaying Witcher 2 AOK on Dark mode and Disciples II, a game I have never played before.

Thanks for the response.

whodares2: I think the droid planet and ending may have been integrated into the Completion Mod because I played through a whole area of HK-50s and '51s. The ending was also for more fluid and seemed to have a lot more to the story and choices from when I first played it all those years ago.

Anyway, thanks for the response I'll look into that project as it worth another play through if there is still more to do.
It's not HK factory (which was restored in a form Obsidian planned it), it's a separate planet with its own master to find and its own questline \ subquests to follow - most of those are made and voiced by the authors of the mod, because original M4 questline was mostly recycled for Nar Shaadda :)
The ending was also restored to be closer to what Obsidian intended, but they had a separate mod in works that alters it a little to make it even more fluid (like: explaining how Hawk was ready for escape when last we see it it's not very spaceworthy, conclusion to Visas - Mandalore friendship and so on)

Zeeaire: And with patches...I almost never patch my games and I hate mods. Only mod I ever used was the mod for the inventory in Skyrim, but I put that game aside after a short time either way.
The mod we are discussing with whodares2 is actually a bunch of script fixes that bring back and make playable parts of the game that were cut due to short development time (LucasArts rushed the game to be out on Christmas). So, it kind of makes the game closer to what the devs wanted it to be. And it was aproved by Chris Avellone himself :)
Added content is released as optional add-ons for the main mod.
I no longer even care if I finish games. If a game bores me: NEXT!

I often have 1-3 games "ongoing" .

Typically i'm playing one on my work laptop, mostly on the train, for 30 minute slices, right now Bard's Tale 2 for the C64.

I usually have one I sort of "timesink" into. Right now, that's Euro Truck Simulator 2. This game has no ending, and I'm finding my interest is fading a bit, but that's fine, I'm over 60 hours in.

Aside from those, I like to play games in short bites, mixed in. Games I can complete entirely in a few hours, or a chapter of in a few hours. I'll play a chapter of Grimm maybe, or an Act of Kentucky Route Zero.
Anyone here ever play several games of the same series at the same time? I'm doing that with Commandos and recently just finished the GTA Trilogy doing that. I only recommend it if you've played the games before! You don't want to 1st time Icewind 1 and 2 and try to keep track of where the hell each game is being saved at. :D
Yes, I have a bad habit of playing in the wrong order, even though I resolve not to. I tend to start by trying the most recent, to see if the story/setting/gameplay holds my interest enough to tolerate older graphics (though newer doesn't always mean better of course.) Then I may start from the begining, but sometimes I'll get stuck on whichever holds my attention best.
I buy a game. Then I download the game and try and get it to run (on a Mac). So there tends to be an hour or so of cursing trying to get the thing to install and run without the sound going haywire, or the movies not playing, or the cursor not flickering, or the display not being psychotically coloured, or the ever popular it plays beautifully but you can't change locations (I'm looking at YOU IWD… yes, I finally fixed that). And then the game goes into the vague mental list of "I should play that when I have a moment". So I tend to end up with a crazy amount of games installed and only a handful actively being played. I play vanilla first unless there's something I absolutely can't stand, which can be really weird (I think my biggest hang up was low rep spiking the shop merchant prices in Baldur's Gate. I actually had to download a mod to change that while on my first run, which then led to a much more enjoyable experience.) After a vanilla run it tends to get modded to the nines. Generally I play a game until I get stuck/bored then switch to another, then eventually cycle back to the first.

Games in various stages of completion that might actually get finished soon: Mark of the Ninja, Expeditions: Conquistador, Inquisitor, Torchlight, Trine, Trine II, IWD II, Temple of Elemental Evil, BG:EE, Bard's Tale, Stronghold HD, A Virus Named Tom, Bastion, XCOM, Eschalon Book II, Fallout, IWD. Weirdly I tend to get bored right before the end of a game. Things like XCOM, Bastion, Bard's Tale and BG:EE I am maybe… maybe… 30 minutes from finishing? Probably less in Expeditions' case?

Currently playing that are just for fun quick runs and not to try and beat: Don't Starve, Race the Sun, Civ V, Crusader Kings II

Games currently installed just to make sure they passed the pre-flight test of "will it run without problems": 87 Games

Wineskin Winery, Boxer, PlayOnMac, and CrossOver are lifesavers for me and I could not function without them. Seriously fantastic programs, all my love to the people who made them.

Awesome. I do this sort of thing with trying to get emulators working (eg Basilisk II, what a pain).
Then similarly, I tend to forget about them and not play the game much I installed it for in the first place.

Is there a watering-hole for running games on the mac somewhere? Do you use winebottler or crossover games or what? If this seems too offtopic, is there a thread about this?
I like to play my games like I watch my pornos, one at a time and in no particular order. Unlike my pornos, It would be extremely rare if I finished before moving onto the next one.

Ever watch a porno and say, "Gee, I didn't think it would end that way."

"It is my dream, it is my goal, it is my idea to make a film where the story just sucks them in. And when they spurt out that joy juice, they've got to just sit in it. They can't move until they find out how the story ends." - Jack Horner

I am currently playing Tomb Raider 1, Tomb Raider Legend, and the latest Tomb Raider all at once. I'm not sure what brought that on.
Have about 50 or so installed. Gives me options (i have a short attention span lol) ...so i skip from game to game...
