Having no idea it was pronounced as dei-as ex, I was trying to tell an English professor about the choice of media that I wanted to use for an upcoming assignment, and I kept saying "Deuce Ex", which confused him, until I spelt it out for him and he corrected me. That was embarrassing. :S

How did you first pronounce it?
Like "deus ex machina" but without the last word. :p
God from the machine. ;-)
"thingy-ma-jig-ecks"
"Do Sex"

Correctly

MaxwellKraft: "Do Sex"
Yep.

Then I became smart and realized it's day-us ex.

One lazy Saturday afternoon years ago I happened to catch one of the bland video gaming TV shows on G4TechTV or whatever it was called - the segment was with various Hollywood celebrities and recording artists on the Red Carpet commenting on their favourite games. The guy they were in the middle of interviewing was Chris Rock (I think) and he was gushing on and on about this new game he discovered on the PS2 called "Due Sex". I just groaned.

deh-ooze-ex. Spanish as a first language here.
Day-us ecks

Its probably the one thing I got out of my high school Latin class.
Deuce Ex.

I still pronounce it that way in my mind, but I pronounce it correctly verbally.

Same as this, but like this:

DE Us X.
I'd taken a few Latin classes while in high school, so the pronunciation wasn't much of a mystery to me.
I also pronounced it the right way
