So it being my first real week since i actually started using GOG, i'd like to know something. How are the holiday/Christmas sales? Are they worth waiting/saving up for, or should i buy anything that i want that goes on sale for 60% off? Do they usually have sales on a majority of their catalog or only a small fraction? How have the last holiday sales been? Mainly thinking if i should spend money on the Ubisoft sale or save it up for a big(?) holiday sale. Thanks :).
Last year almost the entire catalog went on sale for 50% off. If you have the money now, you should probably buy the games you want from the current promo. The holiday discount is very unlikely to be larger than 60%.

From everything that I hear, it's usually 50% on most of the catalog. I would recommend taking advantage of the 60%. With regards to the holiday sale... get gifts and/or only stuff that you absolutely REALLY want. There are promos year-round and the promo will kill your wallet. (I haven't been through one, but from what I hear, I must steel myself to not spend too much)

Yeah, the weekly promos are really killer. In particular, GOG has really been on a role lately with the crazy awesome weekend promos.

I believe that I read somewhere that GOG was going to have special sales leading up to their conference. Don't know if the sales will still be 60% off after the conference but I don't think they will.
Only 50% huh? That's weird. Usually Holiday sales are the most heavily discounted. Does GOG do Cyber monday? Is that even a thing anymore? lol. I noticed a while back they did a D&D 65% off sale so i guess they can sometimes go above 60%.

They used to stick to 50% off with very few exceptions for weekend sales. It slowly seems like 60% is starting to be the norm. But no, they never* do things like 75% sales or such. The holiday sale is usually just a catalogue wide flat discount, no daily specials or whatnot like Steam.

*Yes, King's Bounty was 75% off once. There may be other exceptions, but they are rare.
When starts this year's Xmas sale ?

I got king's bounty when it was 75% off for one day :)

and to answer OP: they are generally very good, last year they were good and I'm expecting a big drop this year

Hasn't been the case for GOG, but who knows, maybe this year.

We don't know for sure, but I think they usually start before Steam's. Maybe next week?
Woah :D Next week is very good time :)
GOG should consider doing daily deals for 75% off during the Xmas sales. I would probably buy a few games that i normally wouldn't.

The Telltale Promo recently offered an 80% discount, but you're right, 60% is the standard maximum discount...

GOGs catalogue is a lot bigger than last year. I would expect especially the indies and interplay games to see a bigger (daily) discount.
