I just don't like paying for bug fixes or patches... that just happen to ONLY be in a paid dlc.

And devs that know their game needs work and is incomplete, release modding tools, aka skyrim/fallout3/falloutvegas.

I wish there were modding tools for EA games, damn mass effects need a lot of work.

What was wrong with Dragon Age Awakening. It had pretty relevent plot elements.

I actually there are more examples, I just want it to keep it short with a theme that was relevant at the time, also Ultima 9, also Thief 4 or Teef, also look at Ultima 8, also Masters Of Orion 3 (the "ultimate" space and strategy game)

I should be bitching at those thing in the gaming industry, but the thing is, I do and have bitch/bitched about those too, I was acquanted with GOG in 2012, but I haven't touched this page since december of 2013, only when I heard that GOG was DRM free it caught my attention,the only reason to why I put this session online is because of this, but I am trying to be consistant with this thread so that is why I am only bitching about Capcom for being the intrusive characther with thier DLC

Any DLC is bad. What's terrible is when the devs charge extra to unlock something that was locked in the base game all along. Fuck that bullshit.

Nothing, it was awesome. I don't consider that DLC, it was marketed as an expansion. I know these are muddy terms now-a-days though.

I hate dlc. In all the games I have played, there have only been a handful of dlcs that were worth the money: Shivering Isles, Mt Arrreat and Tiny Tina's Assault. Otherwise, all garbage. I don't think dlc are things that were cut out of the game just to be added later. I think most times they were ideas that were suppose to be in-game but just didn't cut it and were left on the editing floor. Later, they pick up these scraps that weren't good enough for the initial game, and sell them to us for however much a pop. It's a racket and needs to stop.

Borderlands, one of my favorites, is the worst with this. I refuse to buy the prequel until the GOTY comes out. And even then, I'll wait for a sale. Burn me once, shame on you, burn me twice, shame on me. And don't get me started on how angry I was when Diablo 3 Reaper of Souls came out for however much it cost and gave D3 with it FOR FREE. Those mother fu........

The DLC missions within the Main game like Warden's Keep, The Stone Prisioner, and Return to Ostagar or OK as you said?

And I think you said that you liked Witch Hunt as the only good one of the mini campaings.

I can easily say Beat Hazzard: Ultra's Shadow Strike DLC... I think that's what it's called.

What does it give you?

It gives you some new ships, some missions and... Access to the Steam Workshop...

How much? $5.99

They charge you 6 bucks to access the Steam Workshop, something that's free for every other game and the dev's are all "Uh, we're going to make you pay for that... uhh yeah, because were dirt bags and give me money!"

Are the ships any good in the DLC? Not really... their average... the missions? Pointless... They know the only reason you'd ever buy the DLC is for the Workshop so they paywalled it.

There is other DLC that paywalls you from map's or weapons in other games, some that paywall you from characters and story bits, and those are not all that fair, but to block you from accessing something that's free in every other game, and something that other people created, not even the developers but other players created, that's just down right dirty and cheap.

If you're interested in this game, don't get it. Don't reward the developer for this shotty behaviour.

It's nice to see someone else say it for once, though. All I've seen is people gushing over them and defending them to no end, because it's Nintendo. I fear that if they don't sell well-enough, then rather than immediately get rid of them, the first thing that they do may be to make them more invasive into games to alleviate people saying that they don't currently do much. Unfortunately, if that happens, it will mean that they could go from being optional little things that we can safely ignore, to something that is required for a key feature in an effort to sell more of them. In fact, they've already done something like this in the past with their e-shop game Pokemon Rumble U where the in-game coins that you collect in battles are used only for buying continues if you don't buy the Pokemon figurines that give you access to a simple power-up and move-learning system that could have easily (and needed to be, because it was the shallowest of the three games in the series) be put into the base game. Nintendo has a lot of great franchises, and I really hope that they don't go any further with this and try to make those Amiibo figures feel required in any game, so that they can go eventually go away, and we can get back to getting those same minor features from the Amiibo built into the game from the start, where they belong. Because, really, saying that Mario Party 10 and Yoshi's Wooly World will have Amiibo functionality, when those games won't release until 2015, means that they've taken features out of a game that is in development just to have something to stick on the Amiibo. So, it's basically day 1 DLC, costing 15 dollars per figure. It's not like one figure alone is all you would need for every single Amiibo-compatible game, either, since something like Samus may not work in Yoshi's Wooly World.

It's such a mess.

I think only The Stone Prisoner and Warden's Keep are really good. Those are the only ones I would buy if I had to buy them again.

If you get them for free though, why not play Witch Hunt and Return to Ostagar. They're okay.

The rest are crap.

The main point though had to do with pricing and when they came out. As a big fan of Origins I bought the DLC and it was almost all overpriced, and very small, and not that high of quality. It was "worst" in the sense of buying it and playing it at that time.

Well now I understand your dislike of Leliana's Song and The Darkside Chronicles.

But what was wrong with Golems of Amgarrak than? My only reasoning is why is it a DLC extra campaign and not part of the main campaign.

Also and mabye I am wrong on this but am I the only one who wants some of the Awakening content in the Main Dragon Age Origins campaign? Why can't we have the new talants and specialzations and for Warriors and Rogues Stamina Potions?

The Golem thing was just a cheaply made dungeon crawl. There's plenty dungeon crawls that are better in the main game. Again it was the worst DLC experience ever for me at the time it came out. Now it's all included in the GOTY edition for $5 and that's a different scale. At the time though paying $10 for Golems of Amgarrak was a total losing proposition.

And yeah, it's a shame Awakening didn't port it's improvements back to the main game.

The worst thing for me with DAO DLC's is that if you didn't have them, you still got a bloke in your camp offering you a quest, when you except the quest you get the, Oh you have to buy the DLC.

You think modders would mod ato make the Awakening improbements into the vanilla canoagin.

Speaking of Mods is there a Mod to use more than Four Party memeber? At least 5 man party would be nice.
