This is truly sad. I hope this did not happen to one of my digital neighbors here on GoG.

Oh, this shit has happened before.
"Let's just be grateful his obsessive hobby wasn't..."

Seriously? Who the fuck gave that hack writer a job? That's sixteen games, that's not even close to being a smidge obsessive.
And that's why we buy digital copies of our games.

Yes! Poor guy, hope he finds this site soon.
What a bitch.
That girlfriend is really going to regret this tomorrow when she gets served with a lawsuit...
How is it everyone just automatically assumes it WASN'T me!? You know it wouldn't totally be out of the realm of possibility that I have a girlfriend.

Actually, who am I kidding? :P

Seriously, if he'd come here and voted for the virtual GF game this never would have happened.

Not sure he'd do it, but that's easily a small claims court case.
0.o That is just cruel. Normal girls when we get bitter simply dump the guy and than bitch to our friends about him. I can understand being bitter by his obsession, but that is just needless and opening her ass to a lawsuit. Bitching is a little to no risk activity to participate in and quite refreshing.

The problem is in SMC they give you the current value. He pays $30 for Quake 2 and several years later his lady destroys the cd he gets the current value of Quake 2; maybe $5?
While it's small consolation, be glad it wasn't his dick. There seem to be more and more stories of females who feel justified, for whatever reason, in cutting off their man's penis.

Disk copies and cloud backup reduce this to nothing more than some broken plastic. I hope he made those copies.

those were all Xbox 360 games, which can't be booted from a backup disc as far as I know. Also, anyone else get the feeling the writer was a girl who enjoyed the idea an who just stuck small- claims case to the end in order to make it sound unbiased?
I remember when something similar happened here. A (ex)girlfriend decided to get revenge on her (ex)boyfriend by logging into his MMO character and deleting all of his stuff and characters. She became one of the first people to be sent to prison for it in Japan. At that time a new law had just passed concerning unauthorised access to computer systems and accounts, etc., and that is what she fell afoul of.

I was going to say, "And that's why we get digital girlfriends"!
