Hello. I'm a 16 year old boy (good start huh?) wondering if this game (Heroes of Might and Magic 2: Gold Edition) works for Windows 7. When I was a little kid, it was the first game I played, and sometimes I miss it. And now I can't find my old CD for it, so I've been looking for it on the internet.

Anyways. Can anyone confirm that this works on Windows 7, or possibly someone from the staff confirm that it does?

Thank you =)

Is it just me, or does the music in the game sometimes make some wierd sounds?

I don't know about the music, but the last time I played the GOG version, the teleport spell made a horrible screeching white noise kind of sound. That was all though. But I believe the music has been updated since then. It used to be redbook audio, now I think it's .ogg files.

I've told you to look into HOMM subforum, right? :>

One of the oddities you will just have to endure running this game through DosBox I think. In my experience it is a minor, occasional nuisance. Only made a bit more annoying because the soundtrack to this game may be the best of any game ever released.
Yes it is indeed a tiny error, was just wondering =)

You can set sound to midi, it is less annoying.

Try this (in the ini files):

"blocksize=4096
prebuffer=100"

"memsize=64" also can't hurt...
There may be some audio artifacts while changing screens (town->map, map-> town, ending turn) but other than that it should be really smooth.

Could you make a guide for dummies? Since I'm totally green at that stuff, and I don't get anything of what you're saying :p
