I have to say, this is sounding pretty cool, bit of realism, smaller scale, no saving the world. If the core gameplay can manage to be something even slightly different or even just executed well, this could be a top game

Add to the fact they've got the writer of Red Dawn on hand and I'm hoping for at least one "wolverines" reference
Looks like Red Dawn: The FPS. I'm interested in seeing what they do with the setting though, could come out feeling like a HL2 clone, just with Koreans instead of Combine. What I would really love to get would be a true guerrilla warfare style game. Sneaking around, planning attacks carefully, and being careful with your limited supplies, stuff like that.
Man, some of those comments on the page were depressing. It seems like people will use any opportunity to criticize America, even if their explanations for doing so are absolutely ridiculous.

Weird, I don't even see any comments.

Whoops, I was looking at the US version of the site.

Oh I see it now. I guess that stuff is to be expected.
I'll just go back to playing my videogames while they soapbox against us.

I've been interested in Homefront for a while and I hope it's a solid shooter. The more I see stuff about it, the more I like.
The Backstory trailer got me pumped for this game.

This looks promising. The original Red Dawn is one of my favourite movies. Definitely gonna check this out when the time comes.
Wolverines!

I'm still a little skeptical after the parade of mediocrity that was "Turning Point: Fall of Liberty".

Fact: Red Dawn and Apocalypse Now were great movies.
Fact: Writing material for a video game is a lot different than writing material for movies. Especially movies from 1979 and 1984. I mean, what if Milius' experience with games is the same as everyone else who was born in the 1940's? You know, one of those "In my day we played with sticks and shot our eyes out with BB guns" guys.
It looks like yet another copy paste FPS to me, but I'm always hoping they can surprise me.

Don't hold your breath

This indeed will be nothing more than a Generic FPS with an extremely short SP (already confirmed by the press) with a heavy focus on mutliplayer

and of course the lead platform and focus will be on the 360. I have already said this in another thread so I'll let you put 2 and 2 together

The game will bring nothing new to the genre or have anything interesting in it (apart from the idea and setting) and will be forgotten in a month

you want to know what the funny and interesting thing is? Every single time I make these "Predictions" I'm always right and every single time people will badmouth me saying that I "haven't played the game yet" and that "it will be fun"

I would like to see where those people are now when I said the same things about Fracture and Quantum Theory and countless other generic FPS/TPS this gen
Canceling my pre-order on this one... three games in the same paycheck (Crysis 2 and AC: Brotherhood being the other two) and at least one of them has to wait. Since I read Homefront has a 5 hour campaign, that's the one that's gonna go.
I wonder how the PC version will fair in Japan. Will it get a release on Steam (it has preorders, but that's not an indication of anything these days)? And if it does, will it be uncensored or have all references to North Korea removed (like the console version)?

Either way, what with Shogun 2, Dragon Age 2, Crysis 2 and Assassin's Creed Brotherhood all lined up for this month (and the next few probably given how little time I have to play) I won't be buying this until it's at least 50% off.
The game looks overhyped. To be honest any game that uses the real world (those GDC Pyongyang Express snack carts for example) is probably overhyped.
