ktchong: Wreck It Ralph is a very good movie about video games. It's a Disney animated movie with a strong story that appeals to adults and ends with a surprising twist.
The ending came to me as a surprised. It is very unexpected but also very Disney. Up until the ending, the movie does not feel like a Disney story at all. Then the surprise revelation at the end of the movie affirms it is a (very good) classic Disney story. (i.e., the revelation about Vanillope VonSchweet.) Then I realized the focus of the movie was not about the title character Ralph; the real story was about Vanillope, who went through the most character arc and growth in the story.
I do not like kart racing games. However, after seeing Wrech It Ralph, I really hope some video game developer would make Sugar Rush into a full-fledged video game. I'd love to play Sugar Rush -- that game looks really, really fun and exciting in the movie.
The other good movie about video games is "Scott Pilgrim vs The World". What a horrible and uninviting title for a movie, which I think is the reason the movie underperformed at the box office. I would have named it "Scott Pilgrim vs The League of Evil Ex-Boyfriends", which would have been catchier and grabbed interest and attention.
I'll give you Wreck-It Ralph, but personally, I hated Scott Pilgrim.
