Because we like you so, we have a gift for you.

A while back, we started to sell EA games--great classics such as Wing Commander, Privateer, and Alpha Centauri. A few people--just a few!--noted that we didn't have the expansions and that made them sad panda.

Well, panda, be sad no more! As a holiday gift from us to you, we're bringing everyone who bought (or buys in the future!) the expansions for Wing Commander 1 + 2, Wing Commander Privateer, and Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri for you today! These expansions are free updates, so just download the new installers for each game from your account and start playing now! Note that these EA games will not be part of any Daily Deal bundle, so go ahead and pick them up now for only $2.99 each.

The expansions are:
Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri--Sid Meier's Alien Crossfire.
Sid Meier's Alien Crossfire brings you seven new factions (two that are non-human), new technologies, new facilities, new secret projects, new alien life forms, new unit special abilities, new victory conditions (including the new "Progenitor Victory") and several additional concepts and strategies, making it a "must-have" expansion for the award-winning game.

Wing Commander 1 + 2--Wing Commander: The Secret Missions, Wing Commander: The Secret Missions 2 Crusade, Wing Commander II: Special Operations 1, Wing Commander II: Special Operations 2.
The Wing Commander expansions bring new missions, new ships, a new storyline, and an increase in difficulty in The Secret Missions, and in Secret Missions 2: Crusade, we see a whole new alien race, a new challenge, and a mysterious defection all raising the stakes of both the game's storytelling and its combat. In Wing Commander II: Special Operations 1 we see a layered web of deceit, lies, betrayal, and action all bringing that trademarked Wing Commander cinematic feel, while Special Operations 2 sees the player ambushed while escorting a traitor, and soon the player (as Col. Blair) will find himself undertaking one of his most dangerous missions of all: an undercover one infiltrating the very traitors he was escorting in the first place!

Wing Commander Privateer--Privateer Righteous Fire.
Finally, in Righteous Fire the player squares off against a crazy fundamentalist sect called the Retros as the open-ended space sim world's story continues with more action, ships, and missions to keep player occupied for hours.

A special thanks goes out to Paul Barnett and Jeff Skalski at Mythic (@MythicNews) for their help getting these add-ons secured (finally!) and available to you. :)

tfishell: Shoot, I'm glad GOG doesn't focus on modern titles (aside from indies, who I justify often as being in the spirit of the classics here.) That may well change, which would make a sad panda, but I'm sure many would be excited for the DRM-free-ness.

Kristian: Thankfully not all new games that GOG releases are "indie" there are also AAA games like the Alan Wake games, hopefully there will be more those. If GOG were to release Crysis 3 and/or FarCry 3 and/or Assassin's Creed 3 tomorrow I would buy them in a hearthbeat from GOG.
Well personally this doesn't interest me. I'm here more for the old stuff rather than the DRM-free; I don't mind using Steam for new stuff. But yes, I'm sure there are people that would buy new AAA games here. :)

immagikman: Thisis exactly why I have 201 games in my GoG library :)
Agreed, GOG are awesome. Thanks a lot guys for this nice, free expansion of our game collections :)

Gazoinks: Didn't know you could run it through Steam, cool. I tried to run M&M7 through Steam once, which did not work at all.
Ya, you can just add it as a non-steam game, for dosbox it needs a little tweak, You need to add dosbox then add "-conf "path/to/conf.file"" to the end (under properties, also give it a descriptive name).

Thanks for the tip, that ought to help keep my desktop clean.
Alien Crossfire at last! :D And for free!

This is an excellent expansion to an already brilliant game. Thank you, GOG. You guys rock!

Kay
I was never mad about the lack of expansions and to be honest i never cared that much about playing them, but this is still awesome. Good job
Thanks GOG. I can honestly say no looks after us better than you do.

Happy Holidays to all of you who work so hard to bring us so much joy year in and year out.
Only Alpha Centauri was on my wishlist but waited for Alien Crossfire. And here it is! So to support this great move i just bought all three games
Just simply amazing. Thank you GoG!

Also thanks EA for providing these. I love the secret missions of WC I & II!
And that was unexpected. I guess I will play some Alpha Centauri...
Thanks, guys o/
What a nice holiday surprise. Thank you to both GOG and EA. Now, time to finally get Alpha Centauri. :)
An announcement made of pure win. Thank you GOG.

JudasIscariot: Yes, yes it (or is it they since it is made of 2 M&M games smooshed into one?) is :D
...You have just made those games so much worse. Seriously, who listened to the voice acting in those games and decided, "Yes, more of this?"

It's optional you know, they give you both the floppy and CD version but honestly it's not that bad especially when one consideres when it was released, plus I heard much much worse.

Now if you really want to see how voice acting really can make a good game awful then go watch some game play of the Japan only FM towns version of Ultima 6 now that is awful really awful voice work.

actually you know what I'll just give you a link to some gameplay:
