Brace yourself, Ned. The 2012 DRM-Free Holiday Sale is coming!

No, there's no release today. But there's a good reason: starting tomorrow, we'll be starting our winter season / festivus / celebration of your choice sale, and we know that you'll be thrilled about it.

What's the sale going to be? Well, we would hate to spoil the surprise early. But we'll be offering your favorite games for sale at prices that should warm even the grinchiest of hearts. While you're waiting, though, we've started some holiday celebrations--you know how we love to give you guys gifts--and you can enter into our week-long holiday-themed caption contests right here, if you're so inclined, or stay tuned for more holiday silliness in our forums as well as on [url=https://www.facebook.com/gogcom]Facebook, and Google+.

Tell your friends, hide your ducks, load the caravans, and get ready, because we're starting the gifting season early with a huge game giveaway tomorrow along with our sale, so you know you don't want to miss out. In the meantime, snuggle up in something warm, drink some eggnog, and we'll see you all tomorrow.

Bloodygoodgames: I love Christmas in Bangkok as I usually go to one of the big malls with a friend (it's HOT here and I love the air conditioning :) and we just grab lunch -- something non Christmassy and then enjoy a latte and a dessert in a nice cafe somewhere. I then usually treat myself to a couple of computer games and a few movie DVDs from my favorite Bangkok seller and buy a box of British mince pies to take home.
I was going to BKK for a long weekend in November, but then I missed my flight and my employer turned out to be crazy (long story) so I had to find a new job and my trip never happened. :( Where do you get the mince pies, M&S?

Bloodygoodgames: Sorry you have to work, some expats here do as well. Most foreign teachers here though seem to at least get a few hours off on Christmas Day so they can celebrate with friends. When I was teaching here my school got a week's holiday, which was nice.
I teach ESP in the hospitality industry and while I don't work Christmas Day this year, one day is not long enough for a worthwhile trip. :(
Considering recent sales like the TellTale one, and all the PWYWs, I believe this year's sale has a lot of potential. Don't disappoint me, GOG! Bring me that 75% off on Allied Assault! =D

adambiser: Just a quick, completely unrelated note/question for you.

Was the site updated recently / today? The site no longer marks "GAME OWNED" in the catalog or in the game search dropdown. They are, however, still marked on the game page itself. Or at least it isn't for me... Win 7x64, Firefox 17.0.1 (also in IE 9).

Looking forward to seeing what's in store for everyone tomorrow!
In anticipation for the huge spike in traffic tomorrow, we've taken offline some features that add a lot to the server load. This will be turned back on Friday or Saturday. :)

I had a feeling it might be intentional.

Again, looking forward to see what's in store for tomorrow. :)
Pizza?
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles?
would love to see some franchise packs... collect EVERY Kings Quest, Gabriel Knight, Rollercoaster Tycoon, every game by a certain publisher into packs. think it would be nice. my 2 cents

PS: OOOOH, AND FOR PETE'S SAKE, RELEASE ONCE AND FOR ALL (!!!) THE ALPHA CENTAURY EXPANSION, GEEEZ!!!!!!

So for the next couple days I should be careful to avoid buying any games I already own? Noted.
Do your worst GoG! My wallet is secure.

It must be something HUUUGE then, not "just a huge sale"... something like release of game from all-time top 10 of community wishlist :D
(I read what you wrote about releases, but who believes you? Not me... :D)

Cronjob: The big question of the day, however, is: Will the sale be able to impress those of us who have already bought about 400 of the 493 games in your catalog from you?

TheEnigmaticT: Yes. ;)
This is the most exciting piece of news I've seen yet. ;)

But also, thanks for the freebies, contests, and sales each year. Looking forward to tomorrow (balancing checkbook tonight ;) )

Note that he said it will impress, not whether it'll make a good or bad impression.
