Brace yourself, Ned. The 2012 DRM-Free Holiday Sale is coming!

No, there's no release today. But there's a good reason: starting tomorrow, we'll be starting our winter season / festivus / celebration of your choice sale, and we know that you'll be thrilled about it.

What's the sale going to be? Well, we would hate to spoil the surprise early. But we'll be offering your favorite games for sale at prices that should warm even the grinchiest of hearts. While you're waiting, though, we've started some holiday celebrations--you know how we love to give you guys gifts--and you can enter into our week-long holiday-themed caption contests right here, if you're so inclined, or stay tuned for more holiday silliness in our forums as well as on [url=https://www.facebook.com/gogcom]Facebook, and Google+.

Tell your friends, hide your ducks, load the caravans, and get ready, because we're starting the gifting season early with a huge game giveaway tomorrow along with our sale, so you know you don't want to miss out. Bought what I didn't already have from the Bullfrog sale, but it's unlikely I'll do the same for any other companies. So if that's the only type of -75% offers they'll have then the pressure on my wallet is at least partially reduced. :p

Still have my eye on many -50% games though, but no hurry there.

gibbeynator: Eidos game sales end in one week, Bohemia Interactive and Retro City Rampage end in two weeks. Everything else stays on sale until the end.

overread: Hmm considering that Desura just picked up Dominions 3 the "newish" game could be something from Illwinter as they stretch their wings a little!
That'd be really cool, but all of Illwinter's games are way above the $20 price point :(

Maybe they'll do a mix. Some publisher days, some theme/genre days, etc.

I'm hoping for genre, personally. Pub/Dev promos are cool, but I feel like genre packs would be a better way of getting the games you actually want.

Your right. Genre mix more likely to have most games im interested in....unless its something like Interplay games (fat chance of pricing going down much)

I wonder what the chances are of hoping that the first Baldur's Gate will be picked as one of the daily deals, seeing as how it isn't included in the site-wide 50% off sale. That's the game I'd most like to play at the moment.

I wonder too. My guess is that best sellers are long time while top sellers are best selling this week. Or maybe that day. I'd actually like to see an answer from GOG on this :).

I believe Top sellers are a weekly basis, where best sellers are actually since the beginning of the website's existence.

Hard to believe neither BG1 nor BG2 are in the top 9 games sold since website first came up
