Brace yourself, Ned. The 2012 DRM-Free Holiday Sale is coming!

No, there's no release today. But there's a good reason: starting tomorrow, we'll be starting our winter season / festivus / celebration of your choice sale, and we know that you'll be thrilled about it.

What's the sale going to be? Well, we would hate to spoil the surprise early. But we'll be offering your favorite games for sale at prices that should warm even the grinchiest of hearts. While you're waiting, though, we've started some holiday celebrations--you know how we love to give you guys gifts--and you can enter into our week-long holiday-themed caption contests right here, if you're so inclined, or stay tuned for more holiday silliness in our forums as well as on [url=https://www.facebook.com/gogcom]Facebook, and Google+.

Tell your friends, hide your ducks, load the caravans, and get ready, because we're starting the gifting season early with a huge game giveaway tomorrow along with our sale, so you know you don't want to miss out. In the meantime, snuggle up in something warm, drink some eggnog, and we'll see you all tomorrow.

This is taking sooooo long. And I can't help but feel I will be disappointed one it happens... Stupid unrealistic expectations..

I've had the enormous luck and joy to be here for the 2010 Christmas sale. With all respect for the GOG team and under the caveat that we are still waiting for this year's sale, there is nothing that can in my opinion surpass the 2010 season.

I'm pretty sure that GOG will live up to all expectations of disappointing their customers' high expectations once again. That's the one thing you can always rely on, with all the hype they tend to create. ;)

JMich: My I ask what was the Christmas sale on 2010?
First of all, we had an Advent calendar, so every day had some sort of promo and I remember there was some other stuff as well. As for the sale, it was similar to last year's, with a rotation system with publishers switching places, making sure you had to visit the site a couple of times during the sale.

Perhaps it was just the feeling of my first GOG sale rather than something more tangible, but I remember enjoying it a lot. That's not to say that I didn't enjoy it last year.

I would say, it was simply the effect that no one exected such a huge sale of virtually the whole catalogue at this time...

JMich: TET said that there won't be any classic releases, but there will be a New release and a New-ish release during Christmas.
Also, we are currently at 493 games, and game 500 will be on January.
