The End Might be Near*. Better Play Some Games!

We don't really know if the Mayans were right
Will the 21st be the Earth's final night?
If it really is, we know we'd want to be
Spending our last hours enjoyably

The end of the world, and the bundles we bring
Are a wondrous package--an incredible thing
All the daily deals for the whole month today shine
We've even brought ones from the future in asynchronous time

Of all of the days of the year 2012
This is the one for gamers just like yourselves
To pick up some games before the world ends
And spend your last day having fun times with friends

Some say the world ends in fire--or ice
We think that neither ending sounds nice
If the world has to end--neither frozen nor flaming
The world should end in a way that says: gaming!

There's and [url=https://secure.gog.com/gamecard/the_witcher_2]Witcher, and and [url=https://secure.gog.com/gamecard/duke_nukem_3d_atomic_edition]Duke
And Deus Ex, , or [url=https://secure.gog.com/gamecard/thief_gold]Thief
So before the world leaders launch thousands of nukes
Spend a few moments and suspend disbelief

Theme Hospital, , [url=https://secure.gog.com/gamecard/caesar_3]Caesar 3 and Trine
It sure was nice living, but we're just out of time
Ultima Games, from 1 to game 9
The aliens are invading--we must hold the line!

, [url=https://secure.gog.com/gamecard/wing_commander_1_2]Wing Commander, and indie FTL
Crusaders and Heroes of Magic and Might
The end is approaching boys; see you in hell
Bruce Willis can't save us from this meteorite

Quests for Kings and for Space and for Heroes and Glory
and [url=http://www.gog.com/promo/telltale_adventures]Telltale
The abyss is erupting--this will surely be gory
Frogs are raining down in amphibious hail

The world may be ending, our last day is nigh
So take this last chance to play games 'till you die!

*GOG.com in no way endorses The End of The World. We like it here. If you have a Death Star, a Death Ray, or a fleet of Cyber T-rexes with Lasers, please don't destroy the Earth right now. At least wait until we release that game that everyone's waiting for. And that one, too. No, that one probably will never happen.

kalirion: Indie Royale is usually really good, but they've been going downhill lately by recycling games from other bundles, and now even from their own bundles. Besides Hector they've also had both Puzzle Agents and Sam & Max The Devil's Playhouse.
Yeah, but The Devil's Playhouse was Steam only, unless they changed that retroactively.

hmm that part is interesting it sounds like Powermonger and Freelancer are confirmed but were not going to see Tekwar.

Still Steam only. Unlike (most) Humble bundles, Indie Royale has Steam-only games sometimes.
Gonchi got his "Horror and Mystery Quest" bundle then :)
Haha, what a great rhyme!
I love you, I really do :D
No System Shock nor Grim Fandango. :(

A bunch of bundle offers today. My wallet will live to see another day.

Edit: Hmm, actually I might pick those Sam and Max games... and that indie bundle looks so noice. Anyone know if it's possible to share a purchase with that one?

de_Monteynard: Very nice of GOG to tell us which games will be reduced by 75% and which will not. This is excellent for those of us wanting to complete our wishlist.
It's actually a bit of a problem though. In their attempt to get the drop on Steam they're actually helping Steam. I now know exactly what is going to be on sale here and that they're all pretty much going to be "buy all" bundles. When I know that games I want are only going to be discounted more as part of such a bundle I now know that if I only want one or two of those games at 75% off I should buy it from Steam instead. So if it comes up for 75% off on Steam I won't hem and haw and wonder if there might be a better deal on GOG in the future.

These are great deals if you don't own any of them and you want everything in the bundle. Sometimes that works for you, but many other times it doesn't. Steam generally just gives us the same deals without such stipulations. It's not insolence, just competition.

I'd much rather buy games from GOG, but price is still the deciding factor. Surprisingly enough what this "End of the World" sale has done is remove any sense of hope I might have for the future (of this sale at least) and push me into the arms of another.
Btw, has anyone played Wallace & Gromit? I'm kind of tempted by the offer but unsure whether I would enjoy it. I'm a huge fan of p&c adventures, but I have to admit not all of them are very interesting and intrigueing.

I liked the short Wallace & Gromit animation series back in the days but I remember disliking Chicken Run and being utterly bored by it; can't recall if I also tried a Wallace & Gromit movie, if there was one; if so I don't think I found it enjoyable either.

As for Telltale 3D games, I have mixed feelings. I had fun with the first 3 or 4 episodes of Sam & Max Season One before I took a long break because it's getting so repetitive. Revisiting the same locations over and over again is a pet peeves of mine in point-and-click adventures, especially when half of the text doesn't change. I also played a bit of Bone: Out from Boneville and it was so so. I only watched the intro of Back to the Future, after revisiting the movie trilogy, and just played for a few minutes and it already kind of bored me. Strong Bad was ok, I kinda liked the three episodes I've played even though I didn't think it particularly funny.

So, how does Wallace & Gromit play? Is it more of a childrens' game? Is it enjoyable for adults, too, or is there a high risk of getting bored? Is it actually funny? Cute? Clever? Or rather mediocre? Which (of the) other games does it resemble the most?

Thanks for any help!

Thank you GOG.
Anyone else really hoping for a Side Meier sale? Been eyeing Alpha Centauri and Pirates for a while now.
this is absolutely mad...

I've chosen the games that I wanted and went to checkout, but the whole pack was for 23,5 dollars which was too much for me.

so I deleted more than half of them, games that I found interested but knew I'll probably never play them... and the price went down to 18,5 :D

not much of a choice you give us GOG!
<glances at Witcher2 75% off once again>
Oh come on GOG, tempting me once wasn't enough?

(...must not... add... to cart...)

Pretty much this. I don't have a ton to spend (Can't afford it), so when I see a lot of these games I'm curious about tied to bundles, it makes me sigh. Maybe this will change when they come up, because the Indie RPGs bundle wasn't put out at 50% for some or 75% for all, so we'll see in the coming days.
Thank you GOG for slowly killing my wallet XD

Talk about a first world problem. I must find my world's smallest violin to play you a nice tune :D
