Holiday Sale Day 12: Ultima Series</a>

Thank you, thank you. Be sure to tip your waitress. Great to be here and tell you a few jokes to support [url=http://www.gog.com/promo/ultima_series]today's incredible offer. I just flew in from Brittania for this show and let me tell you: my arms are killing me! Apparently--and I didn't know this--you aren't supposed to drop your trousers when you get near a moongate. A name like that--who knew? I went out drinking the other night and it occurs to me that drinking is the perfect way to show all of the Virtues: you show honor by paying your tab, compassion by tipping the barkeep, honesty because "in vino veritas", justice by taking a cab home, sacrifice by giving up your brain cells for virtue, valor by drinking your whiskey neat, humility by leaving the bar on your hands and knees, and spirituality when you beg the gods tomorrow morning to kill you!

Three priestesses are sitting in a park one day eating ice cream. One is licking the ice cream, the other is sucking the ice cream, and the third is biting the ice cream. Which one worships the Goddess of Beauty? What's that? The one who's licking the ice cream? No, its the one named Kylista, but I like the way you think!

:: rimshot ::

What kind of warrior is a friend of loud noises? It's obviously a guy who likes to charge into battle, towing a bunch of pots and pans behind him on a string. What kind of fool would ask what's a pal of din?

:: rimshot ::

A wizard wearing a robe with the letters VAS FLAM stencilled on it front walks into a bar and the bartender points at the wizard's chest and says, "Hey, we have a drink named after that!" The wizard looks puzzled and says, "You've got a drink called an 'Itchy Robe'?"

But seriously, folks, today sees a crazy sale of all of the games in the Ultima series--that's Ultima 1 + 2 + 3, Ultima 4 + 5 + 6, Ultima 7, Ultima 8, Ultima 9, and Ultima Underworld 1+2, all for just $8.94! If you're looking for a chance to play what is arguable the most influental cRPG series ever made--and get it on the cheap!--now's the time to pick it up. The sale is only good for 24 hours, so that means you need to embark on your quest to play all of the Ultima games by 24 December 2012 at 14:59 GMT or be cursed to a life of virtueless squalor.

Oh, and before I go, one last joke: How many Vorz does it take to skup a light-sphere?
None — Vorz cannot skup, dinglenoggen!

Dear GOG,

Yesterday I noticed that, due to a lower regional pricing, bundle discount and holiday sale 80% discount, I can get Broken Sword 1+2+3 on Steam for mere R$ 3.39, roughly US$ 1.60 until Jan 5th. Meanwhile, the least I can pay you for it is 9 dollars.

Naturally I like my games DRM-free, and it obviously doesn't have GOG's extras like the soundtrack, which while nice they're not the reason I buy your games... so could you please work out a deal with Revolution Software before these holiday sales are over? I'm not asking you to beat that price; I don't even think it is possible to do it and still profit. Just try to get closer. That would put my money a lot closer to your pockets.

Thank you and keep being awesome.

Love, jpolastre

You may not know this, so I thought I'd say: our business development team generally starts the requests for our Holiday Sale in early October; at this point, trying to negotiate a deal while everyone on the continent is on vacation would be a futile effort. Sorry, but if you really want to pick up BS 1 - 3 for $1.50, you're best advised going to Steam.

They're great games, and Revolution is good people, so I'd say get 'em if you're eyeing them. :)
Thanks to that End of the World sale... let's just say that forgetting to check the sales isn't that big of a deal. ;)

When is the next set of games going to be taken off sale (like the Squeenix games)?

Bohemia games leave the sale 26 December at 14:59 GMT
Nice promo. Sadly/luckily I got all these already.
Nice, you own all games from this promo.

:-(
For anyone who doesn't have the Ultima games, buy the set, grab the Worlds of Ultima games (which are not part of the set since they are already free) and know that thou art getting an amazing deal! Even though I already have all the Ultima games (which I bought here except for VIII which I still have on the Publisher's Choice CD rom and which still works in DosBox without problems) I still want to thank GOG for having these games on sale and keeping The Legend Of Britannia alive for all gamers, especially since they were able to find Snaz (Britannia's most famous stand-up comic) to write the copy. Trust me the Underworld games and VII are more than worth the price of admission.

As for I-VI, they are all classic, and still fun to play after all these years, and a bit more hardcore about stats, and VIII and IX are not THAT terrible if you keep in mind that VIII is not a classic RPG but an early action RPG (like an early Diablo-type game) with arcade elements, and IX is an adventure game with limited RPG elements, and not a true RPG.

Get them, play them, and enjoy thy new lives in Sosaria, complete with its Micro Earth Islands (UII), and in Britannia and Pagan.

Own all the games in this promo Hmmm wonder what Gog has up their sleeve?
I'd love to, but blew my budget buying loads of copies of Alpha Centauri to celebrate the arrival of Alien Crossfire!
Hmm, this one really caught my eye during the end-of-the-world sale...I think I may have to pick this one up.
Best games on GOG with best discount.

I see. That's a pity. I knew it would be hard, but I had hope it wouldn't be that hard.

Kinda like the same hope I have that these games will magically appear on one of the remaining promo days. Only then, after GOG's promos are over, I'll think whether I should put up with Steam a bit more for BS.

Thanks anyway.

Just keep in mind that the Steam versions of BS only have the updated versions of 1 and 2, not that big of a deal for 2 as I really didn't notice anything different but BS 1 directors cut has some added content mainly involving Nicco and you can't die. Not trying to sway you from getting them on Steam just giving you a heads up in case you wanted to play the original versions of 1 and 2

DCT: Hmm, you can complete this bundle by buying Ultima IX for 1.49.. yeah still not worth it even at that price.
I bought it awhile ago during the 60% off sale, based on a Youtube review (part one, , [url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7SAFMSTefEQ]three and four). I'm pretty sure the game falls into the 'so bad it's good category', and the entertainment value of just the review was worth a couple bucks.

I know but I just can't bring myself to buy it again, I bought it retail ages(have since gave my original to someone who wanted it) ago and man even after most of the nastier bugs got taken care off I just found it depressing and not as a Ultima fan either but just as a gamer in general since for me what little I did like about it and found enjoyable I just found way to much I either loathed, found painful or just felt was really weak and I had tried quite a few times to go back and give it another go but I seriously just can not bring myself to like it and really can't bring myself to pay for it no matter how little.
