Bloodygoodgames: So am I correct in assuming everything that's on sale today (except the Bullfrog game bundle) will stay on sale until early January at the same prices?
avatar
TurnipSlayerr: Not everything will be on sale for the entire period.

Square Enix games will only be on sale for one week.
Bohemia Interactive games and Retro City Rampage only for 2 weeks.

We will have announcements 48 hours before the discounts on these titles stop to make sure everyone knows.
Thanks a lot for that as there are some Square Enix games I'd like to grab.

Don't worry, will be figuring out my list in the next couple of days and buying what I can afford :)
Giana Sisters is less than 50% off. $8.99 instead of 7.49. Is this correct?

These are the games that are discounted but not at 50%:

The Witcher: Enhanced Edition -75%
The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings -60%
Arma: Cold War Assault -40%
Arma: Gold Edition -40%
Arma 2: Combined Operations -40%
Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams -40%
Original War -40%
Book of Unwritten Tales -33%
Retro City Rampage -33%
FTL: Faster Than Light -25%

Edited the list.
Edit 2: Fixed the percentages for "Book of Unwritten Tales" and "Retro City Rampage", blame the server gnomes.

dirtyharry50: On a bright note, I have my fully modded BG1 tucked away on my USB drive that only needs the widescreen mod to complete it (I didn't have a widescreen when I modded and played it last) and I can play that very nicely in XP on a virtual machine on my Mac. :D
avatar
HiPhish: Why on earth are people still using virtual machines when Wine(skin) runs better, doesn't need to boot up and doesn't need a Windows license? I even have a Wineskin wrapper for Infinty Engine games up over at the Porting Team. Once you've tried Winesin you won't want to go back :)
The answer is simple. Because it just works - ALL of the time with no compromises ever. That's why. I am by the way, speaking of "older" games which I define as 2006 and earlier when I say this for my Parallels XP install. For 2007 and newer, thanks to bootcamp I just reboot to Windows 7 where once again - it just works, ALL of the time, no compromises ever. Did that cost me something? Yes. Do I feel it is worth it for zero hassle gaming ALL of the time? Yes. I do.

I'm not knocking Wineskin but for various reasons it can never be as good of a solution ALL of the time as what I use.

"almost all of the games we offer have been discounted by 50%"

See, I read that as games are either 50% off or aren't discounted. Not that some games are discounted but not as high as 50%. It's a little confusing...
Funny, the two games in my wishlist I was looking forward to buying are the only ones not on sale (BG and BG2).

JMich: Giana Sisters are at -40%, as is Arma: Gold Edition, Arma 2 and Original War. There may be a few more I missed, will have to recheck.
Edit: Add Arma: Cold War Assault to the -40% list.
FTL is also at -25%
Retro City Rampage at -35%(?)
Book of Unwritten Tales at -35%
Looks like you've got everything :)

Retro City Rampage and Book of Unwritten Tales are 33% off though.

Edit: Actually you missed out on our special promos for The Witcher and The Witcher 2!

Witcher 1 is 75% off and Witcher 2 is 60% off.

Well, all I can say is "Shut up and take my money!"

I blame server gnomes!

And as for The Witchers, there is a thread about them, and they are at more than 50%, thus I didn't mention them. But you are correct.

I already got all of the Bullfrog I wanted previously. I'm somewhat interested in the rest (Populous 1 and 2, Theme Hospital, DK1), but if all/most dailies will be bundles I think I'll watch my expenses for now.

I was expecting a 75% off sale but not as daily deals . :(

I'd wait, maybe they'll be on sale in the upcoming days.
Is there some kind of bug in the system now with the sales?. It doesn't show my wishlisted games, nor the games I own, until I click on the individual games.

Filtering the games you own (and probably wishlisted) is a bit heavy on the servers, thus they've disabled it for the duration of the sales.

Edit: TET's post about it
