F4LL0UT: You have NO idea how pissed I would have been if right after joining GOG I would have had to see how other people get better deals just for having been around for longer. :P
avatar
Wishbone: As pissed as I am over seeing people who have contributed nothing to GOG being showered with gifts at regular intervals, while people who have supported GOG since the beginning get nothing?

Like I say, I'm not actually upset about it. It would just be nice to "feel the love" occasionally.

F4LL0UT: Am I the only one who has the problem that he can't tell the games he already owns apart from those he doesn't because they've got all the opaque orange promo label now?
avatar
Wishbone: Nope, you're not alone. I just wrote a support ticket about it. I have 172 games from here, and I can't remember them all. The fact that I can't see in the catalog which games I already own is seriously hampering my ability to give GOG money right now.
Maybe I'm misremembering, but I think that GOG once gave a free game directly into our shelves - so it was only for those who already were members.

HypersomniacLive: Sorry if this sounds stupid, but did GOG actually confirm that all the daily holiday promos will be 75% off?
Nope, only thing they've "confirmed" was that the deals will be bundlish...
Hm, is it worth picking up some of the classic RPGs like Planescape, IWDII etc now at 50% or will they drop to 60%-80% like they usually do?

Would a spreadsheet with the current GOG.com catalogue and sortable fields for price/developer/publisher/owned be of any assistance to you looking for what games you have or haven't got?

If you are not going to play them today, I'd suggest waiting, as is the suggestion with all deals. If they don't go on a daily until the last day, get them at the 50% discount.

Already own most of them on here.

I've barely touched them.

...*sob*

This needs to be resolved. IMMEDIATELY.

That's how I understood it as well but a couple of posts here got me wondering if I missed something.
Thanks
Anyone else get a warm, fuzzy feeling when looking through the front page? So many great games, for so little money. I wouldn't be surprised if my bank account was $50-$100 lighter by the end of this sale. It probably would be more if I didn't own about half of GOG's catalog already.

GOG.com disabled that functionality in order to reduce the load on the servers.
Think I read that on the checkout page the games that you own are taken care off, so you won't accidently buy them twice.

I'm a little disappointed at everything being 50% off, as there have been better discounts at the weekly deals (even if only slightly better, usually 60% off).

Still, the dailies are looking better. I recommend waiting for them!
Oh oh. I seriosly fear that I will end up buying a lot more games than I originally wanted.

GOG please also sell time so I can play them! They deserve to be played.

I am happy. Christmas sale is the time of the year when I go shopping on GOG.

All of the game on my wishlist were on sale. Bought 6 games for a little over $15. I know what I'm going to be doing during the holidays!
What happened to Eador: Genesis? It's not on sale anymore. :(
Just checked it. It doesn't remove them but the game is grayed out and there is a little popup that says it must be a gift order because you already own one of the games in the cart and if it was meant for you to remove them.
-50% off isn't bad, but I wish you guys matched Steam prices for games that are on both GOG and Steam. In most Steam sales everything 2 years old and more is at -75%, and the daily deals often offer a higher discount.

I'm sorry, they did what?

Man I gotta remember that one for work. I can only imagine what would happen if we removed one of the features on one of our customer systems "to reduce the load on the servers". We'd have one seriously pissed off customer, that's for sure.

That's better than nothing I suppose, but I certainly wouldn't call it an elegant solution. It's not exactly making it convenient for the people who want to give them money.
