The OLD Eidos games are okay yes. But the new Square ones are not. Hitman Absolution for example, now appears to be regionally restricted on some sites with a Japan specific version sold only on Steam and Square's only JPN store.

FYI, the new Tomb Raider, is not available for pre-order in Japan. May get a console release but a release date has not been determined. Likelihood of PC version is also unknown.

But as I say, when Square say no to releasing a game; they tend to mean it. Take that FF whatever they released on the PC last year. They still say no to releasing it in Japan.

And quite frankly, GOG are right to refuse games that come with restrictions. If more sites started to do this, publishers would have to listen.

If they ended up paying out for the song in Contracts they could have easily paid for a limited distribution deal, perhaps even just physical discs which would explain the lack of PC announcement. Who knows... no one knows, yet.

Here. The other missing one is Hitman: Blood Money from 2006, the last one before Absolution. It's available on Steam, hope it's gonna come to GOG as well.

This is a console release, the original never went to consoles.

None of these HD rereleases come to PC because we had them in HD to begin with.

Silent Assassin and Contracts probably don't support wide screen by default though I'm sure there are ways around that.

I just hope IOI finally gets to release Contracts on Steam and GOG.

Well, this a reason why I think copyright is fucked. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense to sane people. I don't know if Mafia has this problem, but if you look up Sita Sings the Blues, Nina Paley made sure to use song recordings that were in the public domain. However, apparently there are a bunch of other copyright issues like rights to the compositions of songs and the right to synchronize recordings with images. The musical compositions of the songs, not the recordings, she used were still under copyright so she was sued for bookoo dollars, more than she would have made.

It seems that according to one who played Contracts, the song is still intact.

I never played Contracts but I hope Blood Money arrives here at least as that's my favourite Hitman game.

Sorry to necro this, but it seemed more apt to revive this thread than start a new one.

Hitman: Contracts has just been released on Steam, so it appears whatever legal dispute there was regarding the soundtrack, it has been resolved. Now it only remains to be seen if the game is actually released on GOG or whether Squeenix has abandoned GOG.
