Anyone got an idea what next week's release could be based on the hint? I have no idea.
We need to check what video games protagonists appeared in cartoons (not only in Captain Planet).
I think it's almost impossible to guess...

Does the new "Ralph wrecks it" count as Cartoon? If so, it could be anything :)
Oh crap! I know what it is, It's Duke Nukems 1 & 2! Remember how the creators had to change one letter because Captain Planet had a villain of the same name?

From Wikipedia:

"After the game's release, Apogee became aware of a Captain Planet villain called Duke Nukem, and to avoid a lawsuit Apogee renamed the 2.0 version of its game Duke Nukum,"

Duke Nukem was a character in Captain Planet (SCPM noticed that).
It could have to do with the theme of Captain Planet, like a character who would have fit into it or that wouldn't have fit into it at all. Or a character with the same or a similar name as one of the series' protagonists or villains.

EDIT: Ah, ninja'd, kind of. Yeah, Duke Nukem seems a plausible option then.

Am I the only person who has absolutely 0 affinity with Duke Nukem? Sometimes it seems that way :)

I guess that completely passed me by when I was young. I guess I was playing Civilization or Another World or something :)

GOG needs more classic 2d platformers here, there's only about a baker's dozen here. And 3D Realms/Apogee made pretty much all my favorites, so I'm thrilled to see them coming here. And I hope this means Apogee/3D Realms make some new games. They've updated their site for the first time in over a year to announce that Shadow Warrior iOS port:

Original Duke Nukem games from 3D realms?

I really hope so
