F1ach: Anyone know if the PC Skyrim needs Steam activation....or any other online activation?
avatar
nmillar: It's a Steamworks title, so requires Steam.
No use to me then thanks for the heads up :)
Of the two game stores in walking distance of here, one closed up this morning. The other is still open, but mostly full of people trying to spend their unused loyalty points/giftcards/whatever before they stop accepting it. It did have quite a nice selection of preowned ps2 games for 25 pence each though.

The PC games sales seem a bit rubbish. Even among the most heavily discounted ones, I only managed to find one worthwhile game that was cheaper than amazon's normal prices. :/

They also had a skyrim statue, (the life sized one, not the CE one) which they sold this morning. Wish I'd seen someone trying to carry that out of the shop. :D

I do feel sad for the staff always bad when they lsoe their job. as for the company i had not bought anything from them in years as play.comor amazon was always cheaper or the steam /gamersgate sales.

Yep I got mine at the beginning of this article - bought it at the same as the CE edition of the Star Wars MMO. - 135.00 down to 45.00 - 50.00 is a bargain

Gears of War statues still available in quantity at my GAME store - had 4 left when I asked.

Still feel for the staff though

As is the way of Administration

The news quoted that Loyatly cars come to nearly £19 Million GBP which is why RBS were interested. I got rid of my points early this morning as I felt the loyalty card was litterally worth nothing when RBS pulled out

It was my only stumbling block on what to do during this horrible period for Game - spend the points or save them for the Fire Sale. Seems I made the right move just in time (possibly)

Dunno when there will be a fire sale, the shops are closed down here with the staff having a "sit-in" until they get their redundancy payment.
http://www.thesixthaxis.com/2012/03/26/which-game-stores-have-been-closed/

List of all the shops closed yesterday

my thoughts are with the staff
But at the same time, one wonders why they felt the need for, for instance, 4 different stores in Glasgow (two of which were on the same street) in the first place...

Probably happened at aquisition of Gamestation

Game decided to buy them but keep them as sepearate entities

Otherwise no idea
Could be to stop rival game shops opening there.
The latest reports suggest that the Royal Bank of Scotland's bid is to be accepted by the administrators and GAME will be out of administration tomorrow. The stores that have been closed will remain closed, but that's good news for the staff in the stores that are still currently open.

Unfortunately this means a fire sale is now very unlikely.
April fool or real - you decide

BBC wouldn't fuck about where people's jobs are concerned. It's legit.

Nahhhhhh it was a comment as its was April 1st - no one thought it I am sure - just something to say based on all the conspiracy stuff

George Taki even went around saying another star trek film was being made based on him, and yahoo stated there was being introduced a watchdog for surfing the internet

All fun stuff

As you can see by my posts I have been a long stayer for Game to remain OPEN as highstreet to me is important

So enjoy :-)
