Yeah - hard to gauge when the sales will start to increase

I read certain reports that Monday is the day to pounce

But based on some replies here looks like tomorrow and Friday also look appealing
Went into the store today

Mix of glum and ok faces for the staff

Some who are rational were quite upbeat and had a point

They have 10 days to organise an Aadminsitrator not 1-2 days so the bargains will be had after the administrator has assessed the damage

There are 5 - 6 potential buyers - they can revise there bid after the administrator has got a book value for the total GAME package

So...............

Should you spend your loyalty stuff just yet ? Still depends - I dont want ot need another console just so I can spend my points and I dont need the bucket end of games

For me then I am waiting for the next news to happen - and play the waiting game - I only have 1 pre-order and that has no deposit against it - for those people I would really get that cash back - at least until the franchise is sold
I was in Game today t pick up a few console games, I had some store card credit, the assistant suggested I would be best off to use it now.

Only real bargains I saw were second hand games and game guides. Stuff like Skyrim etc. were all still full price.

All the stores round me have basically said "use it now if we do get bought out there's no guarantee they'll honour it"

All true but not what I am trying to portray

After Administration all this is true

Before Administration (re before an Administrator is appointed) the prices will go down on a lot of items (Not sony and a few others but pretty much preowned is a buyers market)

So............. stuff thats still expensive pre-owned in the £30 catagory sale is going to be cheaper or should be. before the administrator is appointed.

Afterwards like everyone is saying you may as well kiss your loyalty goodbye - as they will start from scratch

Currently - they have applied for administration - officially they are not until the administrator is appointed

Phewwww hope that makes sense - I agree with all people here by the way :-)

Im reviewing this for the weekend for myself - as I dont want to lose either :-)

aaaaand full administration is GO GO GO sales are likely to kick in wednesday ish once the administrator is chosen gamestop may choose to pick up the stores though at the cost of current rent contracts...
Will have to have a look next weekend, as am at work through the week. I was in on Sunday and didn't see anything special.

As mentioned previously, I'd be quite keen to find a cheap copy of Skyrim - however they were still trying to flog it for fifty bloody quid. 100m away, in the same shopping centre, Tesco were bashing it out for something like £38.98. Oh, and they had Mass Effect 3 too... ;)

Yeah skyrim in the current "sale" is more expensive than it was 2 months ago at normal prices (20 quid)
Anyone know if the PC Skyrim needs Steam activation....or any other online activation?

It's a Steamworks title, so requires Steam.
Heard about this from Stuart Ashen (of Ashens.com fame) on Twitter - Game and Gamestation are closing their stores (link: http://www.mcvuk.com/news/read/store-closures-begin-at-game-and-gamestation/093365)

From what I've heard from people like TB, Game and Gamestation were just as awful as GameStop/EB Games are over in North America - while it's great that such a horrible business is finally gone, I feel awful for all of the people who are losing their jobs.

Sad day but GAMESTATION in my hometown has closed leaving GAME as the only store left open. The people in the GAME store still uncertain of the future, They let me know in Solihul, 1 of the 3 stores have also closed with a possible further store closing tomorrow - The beginning of the end then :-( I feel for the staff in this sad time. GAME Management - your just greedy and thats why you failed.

Bought Soul Caliber 5 Special Edition for 29.99 on PS3 (was 69.99) to spend from my loyalty points - leaves me £5 to spend tomorrow if still open

"MJA Jervis and SD Maddison have been appointed as Joint Administrators " oh yay they chose the 2 groups that prefer to break up companies and sell the stock over those that will first try to sell the entire company -.-
