So OpCapita offer to buy Game and most of the debt outstanding for Game

Interesting Read - I just hope they keep most of the staff in the shops who didnt deserve all this stress

As for the higher management - hope they get whats due to them

delboy2k10: Like I said - shame your shop had little for you - I hope in future you get what you want :-) gamers need to be happy

Crispy78: Very kind of you! :)

At the moment, Skyrim for about £20 would suit me down to the ground...
Keep an eye on the Game website

Although they may have a buyer in the works which is unconfirmed, Activision and Microsoft have also now stopped support. Although this is only new titles like Cabela Big Game hunt and other such titles I think Game as we know it no longer exist. That means I feel all the high priced games will now reduce also. They cant be sale or return in my opinion.
http://www.thesixthaxis.com/2012/03/15/game-share-price-rises-as-more-publishers-pull-out/

Game cant sell Themed Star Wars Xbox and yet shares rose yesterday on news they may get taken over

My opinion - End of Game - Start of a Comet / PC World type of game shop (yuk)

Both bad in my opinion, but I still hope the standard staff remain in the shops (6000 employees is a lot of unemployment)
No news about game today

Went into the store where I live and its virtually empty

Bought Darkness 2 Collectors on PC for 12.99GBP and installed it and registered it - worked fine and that was a good find really considering its still £22.00GBP on consoles (pre-owned) and generally £15-£20GBP on PC

Speaking to the staff they were remarkibly upbeat and I wished them all well
And so it begins

1 Week from now we will know the answer - keep an eye on sales cause if it goes T**s up then some amazing deals may be for the taking

Yes, to bad they don't have any games left worth buying... May keep any eye out for hardware though, wouldn't mind getting a new handheld on a sale.

Those are worth shipping back because they're high value and cheap shipping. You might score a decent deal on a console or some controllers, though.

Shares suspended and new info suggests Gamestation will be killed off to save Game

Some people think thats the wrong way round
I've got three copies od Diablo 3 pre-ordered at gamestation. I pre-ordered at gameplay but I received an email saying they were merging with gamestation and even got a £5 voucher. They better not cancel my order...
http://www.thesixthaxis.com/2012/03/21/it-looks-like-game-has-gone-into-administration/

Company now in administration and have 10 days to assign a representitive

While in Administration they are protected for the 10 days while an administrator is appointed

Looks bad - cancel that diablo 3 and if looking for collector edition I think Gamestop are still taking orders otherwise its standard edition only I think

Have you already paid? Because if they go under, your money is gone.

No, but I'd have the game rather than the money. It was really cheap (£24 I believe) and there's only one store in UK who sells it for a similar price (£25).

With an Administrator - the shop should stay open for 10 days as the lease is frozen and shares frozen while an administrator is found to take the job on. What that means from a supplier point of view I am uncertain, I havent heard Blizzard say they wont supply but we all know about Capcom and EA

If you can wait 10 days thats fine but I believe Diablo is March 15th / 16th, which is beyond the 10 days (although that 10 days can be extended its unlikely based on press coverage and high impact on this)

We all can offer advice - currently I am reviewing the news and I should think Monday will be "Sell everything day"

I pre-ordered at gameconnection.co.uk just in case.

I was never a big fan of GameStation/Game, but I do look forward to the sale. I got tons of stuff cheap from Zavvi.

Sales are already starting I picked up SotS2 for 3 quid this afternoon in store and my OH picked up SWTOR for 15... I was tempted by the CE at 30 but already owning it I couldn't justify the buy
