Hi GOG staffers!

Could you hide the vote count for the next day's sale possibilities? It's a tad discouraging to vote for what you want when you see the other vote has 1K+ votes ahead of the competition. I'm sure this makes a lot of people not vote or just vote for the leader if they feel their vote won't matter.

This would be really nice, but I understand it would be hard to know if it's really a big issue or not. This would simply just remove that worry/make people feel like their vote doesn't matter.
Yeah when something is 1000 votes ahead, i think its useless to cast another vote for that.
On the other hand when it's close then it might be useful to vote on what you want, and i assume some will get very close.

+1 to this. Ditto.
There's voting in this sale?

On the main page under the sales is "vote for tomorrow's deal" drop down tab.
Anyone else want to chime in their opinions on this?
I don't understand the issue. Seeing the number of votes is good, it allows for better planning of my purchases. Hiding the values is a bit like closing your eyes just because you _might_ see something that you wouldn't like. I'd rather see the facts as they are, thanks.
Not entirely related, but I already had all the games in today's Ultraviolence Uberpack :D
I think the number of votes should be displayed AFTER voting.
I agree. While transparency is a good thing, it does feel bad to cast your vote for an option that is losing by a large margin and you know this margin before even voting.
I agree, the number of votes being shown can skew future voters to vote in one direction or another, or not vote at all depending on what they personally care about. I wouldn't display the vote count before or after voting as even displaying it after voting, someone can copy and paste it into the forums or whatever and that can have an effect of altering the vote. This is one of the reasons why vote counts don't show up in elections and other critical things until after the fact - in order to maintain fairness and attempt to avoid bias.

I have to admit that after seeing the package I want for tomorrow dwarved by the D&D game vote, I almost just clicked [close] instead of voting too, but then I went ahead and voted anyway, but I imagine lots of people just go "meh, no sense in voting with that spread" and close it.

The issue for me is that people will see how the votes have spread out and won't vote for what they really want.

For example yesterday's votes were around 7K and 5K (so 12K or so total) so not that wide of a spread as could be. However, today so far (as of this post not even half way through the day) it's 2.1K an 5.8K (8K total roughly) not even half way through the day. Seeing the numbers this wide spread will deter many people from voting at all because they'll feel that their vote is useless (particularly those wanting the Memorable Dungeons pack) and thus will prevent the votes from potentially evening out/coming up from behind. There's still 4K votes go to in comparison to yesterday but at this state I really don't see the votes climbing up at all for either because of the spread :/

With the votes hidden people won't be deterred by the spread thinking it's hopeless/useless to vote. What if you were waiting for that one deal but everyone that voted early voted for 1 of the options so it was say 1K to 4K early on, but the majority of voters who want the same pack as you won't vote until later. When they go to vote they'll see the wide spread and possibly (this has a bigger occurrence than you might think) decide it's pointless to vote since in their minds the vote count won't change much even though there are tons of people (potentially enough for the pack to win) wanting that pack.

I understand your option is loosing, but that's not an issue for anyone.

As Psyringe said, at least you can plan your spending ahead, something that people were bitching about during insomnia sale.

It's not about my option losing, It's about options losing because people feeling like their vote won't matter. You can still plan your spending ahead of time, just plan that your option will win and save your money, as people do every sale. You should already have a wishlist setup and money saved for how much you're willing to spend so it's not like you're suddenly (or shouldn't be) spending money on things you weren't planning to ahead of time.

This is a fine compromise.
