I haven't played the second one much. I think I need to catch up some good game!

Ps. In first game I'm always dying in a mission when you have to set up on some farm or something, and then waves of German scum are aproaching. They always shatter me to pieces :(
2nd was way too easy, you could actually run and gun some missions, even on a higher difficulty. But that comes from someone who beat 1st game and other tactical games of that period (R6 and R6:RS, SWAT3 etc) multiple times on maximum difficulty =P

dutchexcalibur: I've often heard that it was one of the more difficult tactical games of the time, with some cheap AI. Perhaps someone could clear that up for me. I would definitely like to take the plunge in the game as it seems genuinely interesting.
The first game was hell. There was no fog, just a wall that hid everything a few hundred meters away, and enemies could see, shoot and hit you pretty much the instant they breached said wall. To be brutally honest, I think "Hidden & Dangerous" refers to the AI, not you.

Yes. This game should have subtitle: "Sudden Death".
to me part 2 was so far above and beyond part 1 that i dont care to play part 1 again.

HD 2 peaks my interest YET AGAIN. bc people are getting excited about the new jagged alliance game.

HD2 was like in 2001 and i think offered about 3-4xs the amount of tactics that JA has. And for some reason FPS dont deliver the amount of flexibility this game offered.

not to mention MP was kind of fun.

Seriously playing HD2 and then playing every military game afterwards feels like gaming world took steps backward.
i still think H&D2 is the best WWII action game ever made, and among the best tactical games ever as well.

it should be on GoG, though i already have it as well as the expansion.
So is there anything stopping it from coming to gog at the moment? Do we already have the publishers or whatever?
I would instabuy it for sure, H&D2 is one of my favorite games of all time.

Illusion Softworks got bought by 2K Games and re-branded into 2K Czech.

i have no idea who currently owns the rights to the H&D franchise, but even if 2K Games had aquired them, they're not a signed publisher on GoG.
Wow thanks for reminding me about H&D series. I loved those games, they were simply awesome. It would be great to have them available somewhere digitally. I know H&D1 can be downloaded for free, but I'd rather have it with my other games like gog or steam, even if I had to pay for it.

Does anyone know any modern game that's similar to H&D?
