Hi,

I was going to get HOAE but I don't know where to get it! Which Version is "better" The GOG or the Steam version or is there no difference at all. The Price IS a difference, as GOG charges only one third of what steam does, but thats why i ask, does steam offer more for the price?

Thanks,

Soccorro
The difference is that Steam is charging you a regional price. GOG is charging you one global price. Which, if you're in the Euro zone makes a big difference, as publishers love to fleece the Euro zone like it's still 2006 or something.

That is what drives me crazy! First they cut the games until they are unrecognizable. And then they charge "Eat it or die" Prices!
And welcome to the forum(s) of course, enjoy your stay and did you buy Sacrifice yet or should we send you the local VRP ?

Sorry then :(
I do not know if there any differences between the Steam and GOG versions, prices aside, but GOG does provide you with a standalone .mp3 soundtrack of the game if you care to listen to it outside of play. Always a plus for me!

Dont worry he is just teasing you with what i like to think is a long standing forum joke from one of our other users.

Regarding HOAE, Personally i think the GOG version is "better" due to the goodies you get here, Im not sure but I THINK the base game is the same on both sites (except the DRM of course)

Yes, it is. It's one of the best games ever made, but because of poor marketing, it sold like crap...

The only difference between the GOG and Steam versions of HoAE is that the GOG one has no DRM. That's it, really. Now buy it, then buy Sacrifice. Simple, eh ? :P

Apart from the mentioned points, here's the most important one: you can expect that the GOG guys at least try to adapt it to run on future OSes. Steam provides the game as it is, regardless if it runs on Win XP / 7 / 8 or not.

Not necessarily as there is no "must". It is however, widely considered a classic and if you don't know about it yet, you probably should at least consider it.

If you can guarantee me that sacrifice is worth the money, i will consider buying both games! :D If its not as good as promised, I might come over and break your legs or something don't know yet.
