My best day on the net was when I was chatting about a programming issue and found myself a good friend for things not related to programming through that channel :-D

I was pretty excited though when the DosBox site referred me to GOG and I could get the classics without annoying DRM :-)
To sum it up, my first day on GOG is one of the best days on the net, but the day mentioned above still tops that.

Wow.

Age of Empires Pleeeease!

That presentation backs up the reason why I think GOG best company ever, you listen to the users. Never change!

I was amazed that you added the ability to turn of the PM system if you don't want it. That is awesome! There are hardly any sites that don't force new features on users. Thank-you!

The downloader annoyed me for the fact that It reset if the download was corrupted, so the new downloader mentioned is awesome to say the least.

Thanks GOG for being the coolest site on the nets. I really am thankful for finding this site not long after it started.

GOG guys, You're making me proud being part of yor community! It's amazing that You actually think of every request users made. Now I can't wait for next few weeks...
Nice presentation guys! One thing though, that calendar with Witcher 1 is really tacky - why make such a big deal about it in your big PR moment? I hope the negotiations with the remaining 'Big 5' go well, but this sort of cheesy sexism can't help your cause: I just hope it doesn't harm it.

Thanks for your efforts.
I pronounce it Gee-oh-Gee too.
Gogg just...sounds silly to me. Perhaps it is just my virgin ears or my swedish brain.
so hard to wait witcher 2 after watching all new videos :)
I hope that the conspicuous lack of mentioning System Shock 2 when discussing EA means they're hiding something . . . since it was the #1 request by a long shot, it can't merely have been an oversight, right?
Despite EA being a little too cozy with DRM, I gotta think that the Origins/Janes titles alone would easily be more than 25 games. All the Ultimas, the Underworlds, the Ultima Adventures, The Wing Commander saga, the Privateer stuff, and then you've got your Janes' jet, chopper, and sub sims? Man, I can only hope!

I don't expect to see EA/TheSims anytime soon, but that huge Ultima back-catalog of great games would be an awesome fit on GOG. I'm just sayin'...
@all the people wondering about my nickname

In my first day at GOG offices I had to choose a nickname for the website.
First thought was to use my normal internet nick but that would leave you guys too much stalking opportunities when Googling me ;)
So after trying various name generators (that suck btw) I tried like 20 nicknames which ALL were taken (QQ) so then a light bulb appeared above my head and everyone went like WTF then I was like ICANHAZANIDEA and that's like Galimatias was born.

And for the info about what Galimatias means @ GOG offices...
Well that's for the next episode of Galimatias @ GOG !

G'night !

I just looked in the dictionary. An appropriate nick, I'd say. ;)

amcdermo: That beardy bloke keeps saying gee-oh-gee. Give him a slap and tell to pronounce it gog will you?
"Beardy bloke"?

While I would like to see Microsoft's games (Crimson Skies, Mechwarrior(?)), I'm a little afraid of it being one of their tactical maneuvers. They have pulled a lot of their "Embrace, Extend, Exterminate" stories in the past and I believe they would like to see DRM-less approaches fail and their own "Games for Windows Live" prosper.

Anyhow: Salutations!
I had basically given up on playing Videogames and you reminded me of the fun that it could be.

You're the greatest!

I think in this case it would be difficult for them to do, other than offering crippled games or some sort of optional Games For Windows "enhancements" to entice folks - but that wouldn't be harmful.

Also, OMG, Mechwarrior 2:Mercenaries. Want. I think it's Microprose, iirc -- I used to multiboot with Win98 just because I couldn't get it to run in XP or Linux, and I loved it that much. Only mech game I've played where it actually feels like you're piloting a huge, lumbering mech . . . and I liked my custom midrange sniper mech build. :-)
