So I had posted a giveaway thing on craigslist however it got flagged before I had any entrants....

I'm heading back overseas, and rather then sell my rig I figured I'd give it away for a contest. However with CL flagging it as no one would ever really give away a car legit.

So......... I ask you, is there any websites you are all might be aware of that I could run my giveaway on that you are aware of?

I'd rather give it to a local as I will not drive it half way across the country, so any insights would be awesome.

What about giving it to an oldfolks home or charity near you? May be OP for silver surfers but it may be good to enrichen thier days.

Even asked FreeCycle, but they have rules and all that where as i'm well.... not much for rules unless i agree with them.

If you can afford to give the car away, then give it to someone who can't afford it. Giving it by a contest decided by Random.org you might just give it to some prick who can afford it and just wants some easy money. I wouldn't use the Internet for this. To many 'bad' people on it.

Just look around your community. Find some kid who works his ass off in some diner or something to pay off his studies. Find someone who's old car died and can't afford another.

So just go out there and be a bit on the look out. I hope you have a bit of social skills cause you'd need some social interaction to pull it off. But if you do I'd bet you'd fill better than giving it to some random guy.

If you can't find someone in time then just donate it to some charity.

Btw if you have faith that your local minister/priest/reverend/whatever is a good guy you could talk to him. If he's any good he'll know the problems of the people in the community and who'd make good use of your gift.

Ironic that I'm not very social offline and haven't been to church in a long time and still I give advice that involves both :)

My parents gave away their old car because they'd more or less worn it out. It really depends on the car, if you've driven it for nearly 20 years, then chances are you can afford to give it away. Or really can't afford for it to break down unexpectedly.

What kind of car is it? And more importantly is there a smell of dead bodies?
