I'm trying to remember a game.

I would have played it around late 90s. I'm fairly sure it was FMV. It was set in a castle, which you would explore. The only specific thing I can remember about it is that at one point you are captured by guards and sent to the prison. You could then bribe the guard to get out.

I would have played it on Windows (probably 95.)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm dying to know too! I loved this game! I tried the same question here a long time ago and never got anywhere. But I'm glad someone else out there has actually played it! :-)

I got thrown in jail all the time for being too nosy.

edit: if I remember correctly, I don't think it was billed as an fmv, but more of a castle exploration game with some fmv thrown in here and there. i played it sometime between 94 and 96.

Nope - that is, as long as the OP and I are talking about the same game, and I believe we are. I remember there being a large castle, and you could "cut away" the walls to see what was going on behind them. You could travel to the different areas to learn more about them, and sometimes interact with the citizens.

I can't remember if there was an overall story line or if it was mainly exploration.

It's full motion video. I don't know the game the OP is asking about, but the FMV games were generally like those old books from the late '70s and early '80s where you selected an option and it told you a new story every time. It's kind of a shame that those have gone out of favor these days, because they were awesome. And with modern technology the graphics would be fantastic.

No it wasn't that. The game was realistic. It may have been an educational game, even. None of those games either.

Interesting. I played a similar educational game called Stowaway by Dorling Kindersley. No FMV as far as I can remember but animated. you explore around an old ship to learn how they worked and also a bit of a Where's Wally minigame throughout to find the stowaway.

I distinctly remember the infirmary area with a doctor cutting off someones leg whilst he screamed. In the intro it says "There's always lots going on. Lots of it, not so pretty neither. You'll need a strong stomach and a stronger head. I'm not here to molly-coddle lily livered landlubbers." They don't make kid's educational games like they used to haha.
