Maybe you can help me find the titles of these 5 PC games from the past. I only tried them once at a friend's home, somewhere in time between 2000-20004. They were just quick sessions to see how those games looked and played, so I can't give you many details, only "snapshots", so to speak; I hope they're enough for you expert gamers. Of course, take what I write with reserve, I can't swear it's 100% accurate.
1) a first-person mech game; it took place around some planetary base, under a dark sky, and the planet surface was covered in snow.
EDIT: it's likely Starsiege, or maybe one of the other mech games from Metaltech series
2) a hack-and-slash game with cartoonish graphics. The only thing that I remember is that at one point, goblin-like monsters kept coming in until you killed one of them who was calling the others with a trumpet.
EDIT: this is Silver, thanks to lugum and ChillyMonkey
3) a strategy game set in the future; it was turn-based, and I remember some sleek boat units. The tutorial had vocal commentary; the instructions were spoken by a deep male voice.
EDIT: probably Massive Assault, awaiting confirmation (voice over in training mission?)
4) an FPS set in a space station(?), with zombies. I remember being jump-scared by one of those, which I promptly shot in the groin.
EDIT: should be Doom 3, thanks to dr.schliemann
5) a real-time or turn-based strategy game set in a fantasy world, with top-down view, where you had to build villages, gather resources etc. The only detail that stands out in my memory is that there were little portraits in a very distinctive, almost grotesque style, maybe in the top-left corner. For some strange reason I seem to recall that this was a Russian game. (note: it's not AoW).
EDIT: this is Tzar (thank you Mondkalb!)
