I remember this film when I was a child, where slaves were forced to slide down a blade shaped like a slide that would literally cut them in half from the crotch up. I thought the film was Spartacus for many years, but now I am not sure. Does anyone know?

TOTALLY it! That moment had a profound effect on me as a child, I thought it was the most hideous thing ever! I have to watch it again, see if it's still scary!

Yeah, I have been hesitant to watch it because in my mind I remember that scene as being way more graphic than would have been allowed back then.
