All these ideas are great, which is why I'm impatient to sell because I want to do more. Perhaps I should just do some regardless, so I can replace any empty slots as soon (if they do) sell.
I'll try and start one tonight.
Do this one!
A broken hotlink? That's a metaphor for the entire internet
As a little update, today I was having lunch there and some random customer asked the owner what the "GOG COM" painting was all about. I had great fun explaining the awesomness of this website and my love for non-DRM gaming. He seemed very interested. Even if I don't sell any, maybe GOG will get at least one new member.
you're doing the good lord's work
praise gog!
Can I request the Codex symbol from the Ultima games?
Or perhaps the Order of the Silver Serpent symbol?
Or just anything Ultima related!
;)

Aliasalpha: how about this?

Heh, GOG does indeed rule!
(I feel more than a little geeky for being able to translate that from memory!)
I thought I might as well update this topic with a little sad news.
I sold precisely zero of my paintings. Apparently the interest was exceptionally high, but no one bought any :( I even bust the prices down and still nothing took.
Ah well!
I'm seeking a new place to display them now. Maybe I can rep up some more interest in GOG, as I know that at least one person after asking about the GOG logo painting went on to buy something (I was reliably informed).
I'm sorry I didn't really get a chance to replace any of the collection with the communities suggestions, but perhaps this new place will be a little more successful and I'll get to churn out some of your ideas (which is what I really wanted to do).
How about maybe combining a couple of games? Like perhaps... Sketch from Comix Zone and Ryu from Street Fighter uppercutting Bowser in the middle of a level, say... Ice Cap Zone Sonic3?
You could make it really dark and moody! :)
Failing that, the Master Sword is pretty iconic I think!
EDIT: Also finished reading the rest of this thread - well done for having your paintings exhibited! They looked really great! :)

What would it cost you to ship one of 'em to Sweden, and how much would you take for the painting itself, with the lower prices? Also, do you take paypal, if not, what other manner of payment would work?
I'd buy either of the Mario or Cube ones, though 30 or 40 GBP + shipping seems a bit steep for me at the moment (that, and I'm away for the summer, so I wouldn't be able to pick it up when it arrives), economy will be better in august.

Signed for international small packet comes out at £7, as the paintings roughly weigh 600 grams when covered in bubble wrap and brown paper. I bust them down by 10% so the Mario painting would be £27 or £34 in total. The cube would be £43 in total.
If you wanted it sent unsigned then it would probably be even cheaper, like £3 or something, but I seriously advise against it judging by what's happened to me in the past :(

Paypal is totally cool. I sell a lot of stuff on eBay and so regularly use the service.

Sure, whatever is cool. Email me at "its (underscore) phil (underscore) fool (at) hotmail.com" whenever you're interested etc.
At the very least I'll kinda have an excuse to paint something else.
Hmm, that would be a good idea. If you do buy one, how about I paint YOUR suggestion? Sort of like a bonus for buying one. Sounds fun.
I'd totally buy the Sims plumbob one. I'd be interested, but I'm a little worried about customs and delivery messing it up and all.

I saved the address, and added a reminder so I'll remember to contact you come august.

Well I know you can avoid import costs by marking the thing as 'gift'. If you're really worried I could just put it on the uber tracking post, which practically gives you a GPS update XD. Its a tad excessive though.
