hey, I was hoping to get a little outside help, because it's a little difficult to get the word around
I've been working on TetrisAttack.org and the forums for it, and I was hoping to maybe get an opinion from someone new to the series as to what they'd like to see added to the site, what works on the forum, and whatever. If you don't mind helping out a friend for free, I don't mind helping you out either (like say if you need to buy a region restricted game, or would just like to save some cash on buying the American version, etc).
So give me some tips and suggestions.
You can either post them here, or if you really want to help you can post them on the forums, just send me a PM and I'll elevate your account to moderator so we can test some of it out.

Personally, I think the text in the banner should link back to the home page.
Also you should have a web based version of the game on the site. (Flash or Java applet)

I've got to play around with the forum software, I know what you mean, and I'd totally love to do that, but I have to find a theme or something that'll let me do that - or maybe if someone knows more about that software, they can tell me about it.
But the flash request is really the only thing that I'm apprehensive about because just about every flash version of the game COMPLETELY FAILS in comparison. Maybe not for newbies, for hardcore people like myself and the majority of people who will frequent the site, flash versions are just really fucking annoying.
Actually I found a game that is a pretty cool emulation of the Puzzle Portion of the game

tried looking for contact info for the creator, but I can't find it.

still need help on this
I guess nobody is interested.
I've never played any of the versions of the game (didn't own a console at the time of the old releases), but I did surf on over. Glad you already have plans for reskinning the site, because I can just be blunt and say yes, it does look like a blog that got bludgeoned repeatedly with the ugly stick. ;)
It's a personal thing, but I find red/other non-white text on black backgrounds more distracting than colored text on white or gray.
Minimize underlined text. Hyperlinks in bold are just less messy-looking. (Again, personal opinion.)
One thing that did give me a grin... under "How to Play", the last line of the "Pieces" description sounds an awful lot like a Lucky Charms cereal commercial. You might want to play that up. :)
A big plus is that you did make it easy to find "How to Play".
Hey :)
I'll try to help!
I personally am a webdeveloper and webdesigner and I have no idea what tetris attack is, so I hope I qualify.
The first thing I notice is that your website does not have any sort of variable width. This is somewhat annoying imho. Simply because I am running a 1980x1020 resolution and well.. the navigation is a strip only taking up half the page in the middle of the screen.
I would recommend working with percentual widths rather than fixed widths as it just wastes a lot of space ( goes for GoG's forum as well =) )
Second, I find the colors to be somewhat.. aggressive. On one side you have black background with white font, then in the middle you have white background with black font.. it clashes quite a bit and is a bit of too bright on too dark and vice versa.
I would really suggest that you pick out a collection of 6 or so colors that complement each other well and implement them.
The maroon colored text on the "What I'm Doing..." bar is also really difficult to read on the black background. All in all there is too many things going on at once.
www.colourlovers.com can assist in finding a nice set of colors to use.
In the actual sites with content, the color contrast gets even more jarring with the acid green writing and the yellow boxes. XD
But yeah, fix the colors, maybe make the side wider or variable width and its good to go. I notice some pictures missing on garbage sizes but that could be my net connection.
And last piece of advice.. add more pictures. A Banner on the top would do very well.
But yeah, good work =) If you need any help with coding feel free to ask. I'm familiar with almost all forms of HTML and XHTML, basic Javascript, AJAX, CSS and, my personal favorite and my strength, PHP and MySQL. So if you need any help let me know, I'll be happy to assist.

Bio2hazard: Hey :)

ah, yeah the aesthetic is a mess. I have a friend who's helping me with the design, I just grabbed whatever word press theme that allowed me to have columns on either side. I really appreciate your input, but I really think my guy who is working to help me out is going to do a great job.
I've given him a selection of images and we're currently working on the aesthetic right now, I'll remember to keep your post in mind.

yeah, I don't have the images referenced, I took a whole bunch of stuff from the old Ta.net, because I couldn't get a hold of the previous webmaster (all his addresses were @ta.net) so I ended up just taking them. I intend to go through and rewrite them at some point, and I do have a reference where I can just cut/paste an image, I want to focus on updating the information on the game later though.
just wanted to make sure that everything seemed good to anyone who was new to the game.
Ah, I've recently added a temporary banner, tell me what you think of it.

Hey,
I will take a close look at your page tomorrow, and then actually try to work out the content of the game, TA, as well. I don't know what TA is besides its meaning so i'll let you know what my findings and thoughts are and if it can convince me to try it, if possible.
Pretty late here today and had a huge family meeting, so I am rather exhausted ( and bloated ). ;)

Perfectly understandable, thanks for your input! :D

they're magically... done.
I also fixed the panels under Garbage System that were missing, I filled them in with blocks from Panel de pon, they have a different face, but they're the same size.
