T3Fun has announced the North American closed beta of Hellgate's return starts June 03, 2011. For those interested, details on acquiring a key can be found here.

I got confirmation using the 50/50 gamble on their page. Make sure all script/ad/pop-up blocking is disabled or the "Gates of Hell" button at top right doesn't show up or function. I imagine one could make multiple accounts if unsuccessful at first. If they tied key requests to an IP I assume one could also retry using a public VPN or proxy.

On a side note, I played the Japanese version awhile back using a public Japanese VPN and it played surprisingly well under those conditions. A lot of tweaks and changes have been made as well. It's arguably a different online game now while still retaining the good aspects of the original.

GameRager: I did, and a box pops up and says you have to login or something.
You have to create an account first before you can request closed beta access.

The English localization on the "Game Info" page is a pretty funny read :) Somebody wasn't even close.

I did...now when I try to login(after verifying account of course) it won't let me login....and yeah I entered pwd/name correctly. The first time I attempt to login with my pwd it garbles(adds characters to/lengthens) my pwd to an obscene length for some reason....the next time after that it just pops up a box saying logging in.......and it never logs in, and while the popup window is open the browser can't be used.
I'd maybe try another browser. I mainly use firefox tweaked out for all forms of blocking and was having trouble using it even with blockers disabled. I use chrome or last resort IE in situations like this where the site is trusted. If the NA version is like the Japanese one, then it will require IE to launch when it does finally go live.

I used IE 9 and Chrome...no dice. Login fails every time.....it seems to mess up the pwd field every time I enter my info and hit login. In IE9 it says wrong info/etc, and in Chrome it just plain does nothing.
Damn that's weird. Sounds like it's an account creation issue. Since that is separate from but required before beta request, I bet support could help.

GameRager: 250 bucks? For what exactly? Subs? Game? Also the game site is poorly localized and the login is broken. They really need to get their collective shite together or this will fail bigtime.
Three other friends of mine along with myself haven't had nay issues with the login - might be something on your end.

I think you're exaggerating.. A bit. Though it certainly had some problems, some worse than others.
Hopefully they didn't decide to keep those.

Right. Guess I'll have to wait and see if I'm in the Beta or not. I got the message that's supposed to mean you are, but the url would indicate that I'm not (as it ended with CBT=0)

Applied and apparently was accepted. Heres hoping they fixed some of the problems plaguing it when Bill Roper was at the helm.
