So, the PS4 has just launched, and there are a tons of games from "old" generation's consolle.
AC4, the future Watchdogs, Metal Gear Solid V...but no, we need other HD remakes, as for Tomb Raider (sold at 70€ here in Italy).

And now they want to do a Last of Us version too, or it seems this way.

Now I'm understanding why PS4 hasn't retrocompatibility....

just a little off-topic here.....
You mean like how the ps3 had "ps2 classics"? Although I guess the ps3 had the benefit of looking much better than the ps2, whereas the ps4 only looks marginally better than the ps3. Not to mention some ps2 classics were cheaper on ps3 than on ps2 (looking at you, Persona).

All in all, I think it's more that they're out of ideas than it is a cash grab. Naive, perhaps, but that's how I see it.

Nope, I mean brand new versions sold for full price, like Tomb Raider.

If they were cheapest version sold on the store, nothing to say about it. But they are milking old games, giving them a hand of painting, and selling them for full price. I mean, Tomb Raiders is just the PC version with all DLC, sold as a new game.

But isn't the "definitive" tomb raider basically a GOTY package that they're deciding to release on the next gen consoles instead of the original platform? Pc has done that with Injustice: UE, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow UE, and others. It's frustrating and for certain people even a kick in the face, but it's not particularly new.

Yeah, you can consider it a GOTY, but usually a GOTY is cheapest then the full game, let's say around 40€.
Injustice is also a GOTY, but on PC they released it a full price (if you see Mortal Kombat, when it was released on PC, the price was 30€, usually the price of a Goty) because they released on PS4/One the game for 70€ too.

70€ is ridiculous whether complete or not. I whole-heartedly agree with that
Square enix is starting show their ugly side , first the deus ex patch payment dlc and now this

I discovered a funny new thing about this DEFINITIVE edition...they changed Lara's face. Really. And the game doesn't support 3D like the PC version.

That was handled fairly well actually, at least for PC - if you owned everything, that means the base game + DLC, price for the Director's Cut got lowered to 5 EUR, which is a reasonable full price for minor DLC - which is exactly what DC additions were. And the price even scaled with what you did and did not have.

Asking 70 EUR for slightly rehashed TR is kind of ridiculous tho.

Pics or it didn't happen! That would be a shame, I mean she was pretty in Tomb Raider.

Nooo, I can't open videos (or Eurogamer for that matter. Or google. Or Steamcommunity.) because of my current amazing 6kbps download speed. GOG works by some miracle, most of the time, and loading pictures is oldschool as you can get. Don't you just have some direct links to pics?
I never even played the new "Tomb Raider", but I find it downright it offensive that they tried to make her look like some kind of jailbait teenager. It ain't Lara without big tits you monsters

And the loyalty discount magically vanishes, when the game goes on a normal sale.

No clue and TBH I don't really care, what Square Enix could have done is put the game on sale full-priced even for those owning the originals and call it GOTY, which is what everybody else does. Of course, when they try to be at least a bit more consumer-friendly and do something different, people start bitching.
