Right now Ive got some thoughts that GoG stuff is now in wintersleep mode.

When everybody had autumn/thanksgiving/black friday sales, gog had only an regular sale. I considered it strange, but acceptable.

But now, all major distributors (gamersgate, origin, steam) started their winter sales / advent calendars. Gog has nothing once again. Well, I still hope you guys will launch something huge later today, but I think you'd already let us know.

And what are your ninjas doing? You didn't know that competition has huge plans to launch another sale just after autumn sale finished? Or you knew, but did nothing?

As for distr. that claims it wants to be "biggest alternative to steam" you're doing pretty damn nothing to achieve that goal.

When you wake from your wintersleep, gog, most people's wallets may be already empty.

Does anyone from gog community has similar thoughts to me?
You tell em tiger!

GOG will have a christmas sale. They did last year. They just haven't started it yet. Probably another week or two, tops, and we'll have the sale, and if it's like last year's sale, it'll be a very good one.

Just a little more patience. There are still a *few* parts of the world where christmas doesn't have to start in bloody October >.<
Christmas sale starts Dec. 7.

First: It's already December unless you overslept with Gog.com

Second: in christian / european tradition preparations for Christmas begins in 1st of the December and it's called Advent callendar

Third: it's not whatever should stard whenever, it's freaking business and people will leave their money where businessmen strike sooner and harder

And for a single customer it may appear that gogs promos are lamest in the universe ATM. ;)

No, because at the moment GOG only offers old (i.e. less-appealing) and a limited amount of titles with their higher price being 10 dollars, which, let's be honest, is not much. GOG has offers and sales every once in a while, but at the moment obviously can't compete with other sites that can offer hot newish games at quite good prices. So GOG is doing fine, this year's sale will be great, and it will do even better next year.

Also, due to the limited amount of titles, if GOG hosted medium sales as well during the past month, there was bound to be some whining due to the overlap of titles being offered. However I can also remember that game with stars last year, when GOG made a new surprise every day - would be nice to have something like that this year too.
I'd prefer to not see the sale till january - Back in the day, it was traditional for the sales to start then... But yes, the sale was announced on twitter for next week sometime.

And places like Steam only offer their top deals for a single day before offering a slightly (reasonably/heftily/significantly) lower discount for the rest of the sale. Going by past example, you get the full GOG discount for the duration... Unless they accidentally add titles that were never meant to be discounted of course...
It still amazes me that on a site dedicated to $5 games people still seem to want a sale every single damn day.

Steam had around, hmm... 600 games under 5$ last sale. It's around 3 times more games that gog has in their whole catalogue. Steam also included oldies in sale which were damn cheaper than here on gog (but of course, not DRM-free)

So 5$ argument is kinda invalid.

If it would be 50% off entire catalogue like it once (or twice?) was, it would be great.

And if you like buying games on their full price, that's ok. But don't be "amazed" that people expect sales during Christmas. The time when you buy games not only for yourselves, but also a gifts for friends, and 5$ may simply grow to 50. This is why I expect some sales ;)

Independence day sale would be better ;)

And what would be wrong with that? You people really don't like paying less for games for WHATEVER reason?

I don't mind people liking sales. I mind them acting like GOG are a bunch of assholes for not putting their entire catalog on sale on a consistent basis. Whether you know it or not, your original post pretty much read like that. "Oh my, only 25 days to go until Christmas, where are the sales? I NEED SALES! ARE YOU ASLEEP? WTF IS YOUR PROBLEM?"

Tone often matters more than content. In any event, chill out and wait, we already know a sale is coming at some point.

^_^ "Chill out and wait" isn't really a skill set that's well represented on forums, ya know? =)

Strange? GOG is different. And I like it.
