I have seen some reviews that said it was good but I hate buying games when I cannot play a demo. Anyone care to share their opinion of the game with me? Also is there another 4x game out there that you would find it comparable with?

It is pretty cool.. I find some of the tech tree pretty lame.. for example Mass Drivers branches to Heavy Mass drivers then to Super sonic mass drivers.. each just increases the Damage.. I never played it in a long long time.. tons of patch's came out for it.. So they might of changed some things.

I love the game, but yeah it isn't without its flaws. I would love to see the game come to GOG actually. I love the Vandred vibe the space battles have.

I did like the selection of alien species available in the game as well. :D

I love it quite a bit. In my personal opinion it's the unofficial Civilization V equivalent of the Master of Orion series. Not as good as the original sure, but all modernized and fancy and streamlined.

If you like space 4X games, this is pretty much the best modern one out there.

The aliens were cool too! It was nice to see some Humans as the bad guys.

Oh, I SO agree. It bothers me how humans are always portrayed as the victims or salvation to save someone from extinction. I like it when occasionally humans are just bad because they are.
