Are people at least still allowed to cosplay at cons?

There is a difference between Cosplay at a con and swinging around a wand while screaming out spells at a movie theater...

went to premier 19 hours ago.

and it was alright. haven't seen a potter movie since number four (which i saw on a plane) but i did not NOT like it.

basically just went because it is the end and to see snape last scenes. god rickman just made him more epic than he was in books (loved him since book three)

and voldemort was hilarious. reminded me of that old pedo guy from family guy. such a huge ham.

Yes, I am annoying for finding it annoying when people swing around wands and scream out spells while I'm trying to watch a movie... Did you forget to take your thinking pills, today?

And what I meant by childish is being annoying like a undisciplined child so I just should of said annoying instead of childish and annoying. "childish" was not the correct word to use.

I'm really looking forward to seeing it this weekend. I don't give a shit if it's too mainstream or if it's cooler to bash the series. I loved the books and I like the movies. Can't wait to see this one. We've decided to wait a few days before going so we can hopefully avoid some of the more annoying crowd elements, but it should be epic.

Audience participation is something that can and does happen at movies. With a crowd like the one that goes to the openings of Harry Potter movies, you can sort of expect it. Being intolerant of it does not make you reasonable; it makes you come off like a wowser.

Coelocanth had the right idea. If you don't like that kind of audience, wait a week or so for them to settle down, rather than expecting them to treat you as the most important thing in the theater.

So now someone is a "wowser" for wanting to watch a movie after spending hard earned cash for a ticket to go see a movie at a movie theater? It's not about treating me like the most important thing in the theater. It's about not being spoiled little children and realizing that a lot of people paid money to watch the movie and can not do so if people are screaming out spells. These people who scream spells(I'm guessing you are one of them), are no different than those people who talk on their phones during a movie.

Movies are at movie theaters to be watched by people, not interacted with... Yes, screaming out spells has something to do with the movie but it also stops many people from being able to watch the movie(hear what the characters are saying etc). So like talking on a mobile phone during a movie, it is annoying douchebag behaviour that clearly shows us that civilization is falling apart.

Maybe where you come from, not where I do. And do avoid Rocky Horror Picture Show if the idea of audience participation is so revolting to you.

Ok, just because where you come from, people who like to interact with movies, took over movie theaters doesn't mean such behaviour is okay. There are places for such behaviour and they are called HOME and other places where people aren't trying to watch movies, read books, study, work etc. Yes, I will avoid seeing that movie in public because I like watching movies and can not do so with so many distractions.

You should not have gone to the premier then. it is your fault and yours alone for being annoyed. same thing happened on lotr, star wars movies.
it is expected that people would dress up and be ''annoying'' during first few showings. why should have they have less fun just because you don't find that kind of behavior fun? why should they abide to your rules when you don't want to abide to theirs?

I didn't go to the premier. And maybe the people who like to interact with movies at movie theaters should not go to premiers. They should be banned from movie theaters. And it's not my fault if people don't know how to behave like civilized human beings. Clearly, you and cjrgreen live in a world where if it is fun, it is okay,(I'm sure a lot of douchebags in this world share your point of view) so I find continuing this discussion, pointless. So have fun, waving wands and screaming out spells at the next Harry Potter movie premier you go to so 50% of the audience wasted their hard earned cash because they wanted to watch a movie. Bye. :)

I just have to get this out of my system. They should abide by the rules of civilized people because this way, everyone can watch the movie and have a good time VS half the people interacting with the movie having a good time and the other half, sitting there, pissed off because they can't watch the movie they just paid for...

So.. You were annoyed and disgusted by something you didn't even experience first hand?

Do you need to actually experience something in order to know if it is this or that? I don't need to experience my eyes being ripped out and every bone in my body broken to know that such an experience would be painful. And I've had many experiences similar to the experience the OP described.
