I know most folks end up here looking for those games they loved. Thinking of the old games got me thinking of the old machine I'd play on, and some of the stuff I can't get rid (read let go) of.
For example, I still have my first generation Sound Blaster card. That thing gave my games such an upgrade back in the day that I keep it out of respect.
That, and I also have 5.25 floppy drive that I'd keep transferring to my current tower when ever I'd upgrade. Useless, but just for nostalgia.
Any one else do nonsense like that?

Not as such. But I still have fond memories of my Voodoo5 5500. It was a beast in its day.

I have my DIamond Monster 3D, it has 4 MB Ram with 3Dfx Voodoo chipset. I was playing Turok and Quake 2 with it.

I have 3 C64's here, one is for spare parts, or something simillar, one is the older generation [my first computer ever], but it has a busted ram chip, and one fully operational c64, that i still use from time to time. Not useless, not nonsense.
I have a lot of weird stuff here, some may consider junk, like 2 record players, a lot of records, an Unitra SSL-032 [awaiting repairs], Unitra Elizabeth Stereo, which is hooked up to the front panel of my PC, because Creative's 5.1 can hardly be called a speaker system, more like a twitter-squeaker system. I used to have a LOT of old mobo's, including my first PC, the IBM XT, but now the collection is reduced to a mere heap, that will someday be converted into a wall decoration. There's also a tapedeck for the old 7 inch magnetic tapes [i think it's 7 inch, i'd have to measure it with a non-SI ruler].
Oh, there are also 3 17inch CRT monitors here, because i have no room in my cellar. Huh, i switched to a single 19inch CRT lately, yer still refuse to go for an LCD. Theres also a malfunctioning typewriter somewhere here... ;P And lots of smaller stuff littered all over the place. I wouldn't consider them useless and nonsense though, as most of that stuff is still used on a regular basis. ;>
Oh, i also use a 1meg ram stick as a keyholder, but that extra memory doesn't help me remember where i stash them all the time.

I don't think Pegasus was a russian NES clone, sir. And yeah, if You know where too look You will stumble upon a heap of that crap. Believe me, i was surprised when i was looking for some commodore stuff, a lot of that lying on attics, and ending up on Allegro and flea markets all over the country. But one would have to buy 2 or 3, just to have a fully working one, they are usually in bad shape.

I got a running 98SE gaming PC. A blazing 1Ghz CPU with a GeForce 5200FX and 368Mb PC133 Ram with a 20GB Hdd. That thing rocks the older games.

I have to admit to keeping my old 486DX2/66 Novell Netware 3.2 server . . . just in case somebody mentions some old IPX LAN game . . . got that HUGE Diamond Viper 5 MB video card . . .faaasssst . . . ok maybe not so much now . . .=)

the genesis of my gaming life was on a pentium II 233mhz with 24mb ram (weird, i know) and a riva graphics card that had like 2mb vram. 2gig hard drive. i think it was an emachine?? unreal tournament, age of empires and diablo all day long. man those were good times.

I miss my old Riva 128. Good times.

Macintosh Performa 475, 25 MHz 68LC040 (no FPU, so it doesn't do floating-point calculations very well, meaning Photoshop 2.5 doesn't run, it crawls), 36 MiB RAM (originally 4 MiB, soldered onto the logic board, added a 16 MiB stick in the only RAM slot and later switched it for a 32 MB stick to max the memory), 512 KiB VRAM (one 256 KiB stick for each slot), 4 GB SCSI HDD (originally 150 MB, later upgraded to 250 MB, and finally to the current). Accessories include a Zip100 drive and a 4x CD-ROM drive, both SCSI. Operating system is Mac OS 8.1, originally System 7.1 (though I've lost the floppies to the latter).

Yeah, it's a real shame they squandered away their money so recklessly. It seems crazy that the dominant manufacturer could blow their whole fortune so easily.
