As I've preordered the recent paddie indy royale and didn't get anything(for me) in return. I thought I do something rather unusual for me and give away a code of a game I already bought before.

Hard Reset is an awesome game and I can't recommend it enough if you like slick, fast paced shooters.

To enter you must post your favourite Quake memory. A cool play session, favourite map, nice kill, anything like that.

If you haven't played the original Quake you should be very ashamed of yourself. And you should describe an awesome moment with a game most similar to Quake.

The winner will be picked by random.org, with a "gamecheck" done by me. Just so that if your "closest game to Quake" was SpaceChem (albeit it is also awesome), I know that you're not really into Hard Reset ;-P.

As usual, please enter only if you really want to play that game.

It will be the Steam key of that game, not only because there is no "single Desura key" in the bundle, but the Steam version will get a massive content update later this month.
I almost never enter giveaways for steam games, however, for Hard Reset I'd like to make an exception

Owning this on Steam would be fantastic, I'd really, really love to play it, I heard nothing but great things about it

Thanks a lot
Not entering as I already have the game. Just wanted to give you a thumbs up :P
Cheers.
As a kid I played around with cheats in Quake. That didn't always work out too well, since reloading saves where I've cheated caused some rather peculiar glitches. At one point, I was taking damage, and I couldn't figure out why. The only thing I noticed was that I was standing right next to an oddly placed quad-damage. Then a second later I noticed it was moving about, and that it was attacking me. Kinda freaked me out at the time.

Already got it on Steam and from the bundle so I don't need it, but thumbs up to you mate.
Ahh, I love Quake so much. My favorite memory... hmm... well, it would undoubtably be something from the SP, since I barely played any multiplayer. Probably the secret level Ziggarat Vertigo (or however it's spelled). Jumping around in low gravity with a rocket launcher was awesome. I also loved some of the later episodes, where enemies tended to hide in dark corners.

LAN party with 12 people playing Unreal Tournament, on Last Man Standing mode (100 deaths limit) with InstaGib enabled... close enough? :)

Last Man Standing was our favorite mode, and we were always playing on small maps.

Yep! It only happened when the first thing I did was reload the cheat save. Any new game or load while in-game after that fixed the glitch.
I'll try my luck. Favorite Quake memory? There's a few that probably stand out:
1. Quake Soccer for the first time. Watching that decapitated head roll along a field was pretty absurd for a 10-something year old mind.
2. Know those blue blob-like things that jump on your face? I was once on a high platform, and didn't want to come down from there because I could see that blob jumping down there trying to reach me, with only a bit of his top showing with each jump. But I knew he was there. And those things were scary.
3. LAN deathmatch with schoolmates, and the chaos since everyone has just learned about rocket-assisted high jump.
I've only played around with bots in Quake 1 (it was pretty awesome), but in my pre and early post-pubescent teenage years Quake 2 ruled internet cafes. So I guess my favourite memory would be those deathmatch sessions with a group of friends.
Those smelly cafes and shouting at each other from across the room (headsets? what's that then?) made it quite a unique experience, from today's point of view.

The Edge, the only multiplayer map that ever mattered...
Playing Quake 3 arena, on the map with the rail placed far out, on a platform(sorry I don't remember the name). I just picked up the rail, adversary moves towards the jump-pad.

We both launch at the same time, him towards platform, me towards the main of the map.

Not 0.5 a second later both of us were fine red mist. We managed to kill each other with a perfectly timed rail shot from each of us. We were at work. Screams and "WTF HOLY OMG" were heard from two cubicles.
When I was a kid, we played a 2v2 with my brother against two of my classmates. We were sitting in the same room, playing on a huge custom map, talking in code words so that the other team wouldn't understand us. :-]

And then there was this time I first ran my first completed Qoole map. I think I still remember enough to be able to recreate around 80 % of the map.
Mmm Quake memory... guess I'm getting older to remember that back in time :D
My Quake memory.

Only molten lava and ROCKET LAUNCHER !

(and from Q4 - transformation into strogg)
