tinyE: "The Never Ending Story"

Well I also cried at the end of "Fellowship of the Ring" when I realized I paid $7 to see that piece of shit. :P

Elmofongo: Are you those kind of people that thinks the books are better?
No I'm one of those people that think a) writers shouldn't act like they get paid by the word and b) three hours of people walking around a beautiful landscape is still nothing more than just three hours of people waling around. :D

Basically I'm not a fan of either, but then that wasn't the point of this thread.

Am I the only one who cried at the end of "Never Ending Story" when he chased away the bullies and flew off into the horizon?
I've never cried during a movie(or at all in my life) because I'm a manly man.

Elmofongo: How often does an ending makes you cry in happiness? Me not often until recently I saw this one film. So I just ask what is the most happiest ending you ever seen in film?
Usually I only cry on not-so-happy-endings...there is only one movie with an happy end, where I can never hold back the tears: "It's a wonderful life", with Jimmy Stewart.
I shed some manly tears full of testosterone after watching Conan the Barbarian.

(The original one with the Mr. Governator, not that crap that came afterwards)

I don't know why I get so sentimental after that movie, maybe because it's the only good one of those movies, I don't know but it's really that good...
Wing Commander movie had a very happy ending, because it meant that the movie actually ended. Made me very happy. I was almost moved to tears to see it finally being over.

I didn't cry though, as that would have been embarassing, considering that there was one (1) other person in the theater too to see it...
Hard to remember many specific ones but as mentioned above Lord of the Rings: Return of the King, the dock scene certainly had me going.

My favorite would be 'Ima ai ni yukimasu' though. Plenty of tears were shed that day.
Possibly Fish Story.
Oh, and the Alastair Sim version of A Christmas Carol. And only that version.
The saddest movie ending that made me laugh?

Probably in Austin Powers 3. Or was it 2? Damn, I don't remember.
Never cried at a film, but some happy endings that could jerk tears are;

Rocky 1

Nacho Libre (primarily a comedy but the ending is dramatically awesome)

Planes, Trains, and Automobiles (another comedy with a dramatic ending)

Scrooged

Four of the greatest movies ever and Rocky. Well 4 of 5 ain't bad. :D
La vita è bella!
Big Fish
If i wasnt manly-man like Ric, i would have cried at the ending of "Now and then, here and there" - thats not movie, but 13 part mini series though.

"The Mist" had rather special kind of ending as well.
