The reviews are pouring in, but the review I've just read is the one from Kotaku. It sounds like fun, but the limited multiplayer seems like a bummer. Speaking of Halo Wars, if you've been reading Joystiq, you may have seen this. Teensy NSFW.

I tried the demo and turned it off before I finished the second mission, the long awaited "controls designed specifically for consoles" turned out to be the exact same clunky RTS controls that everything else uses. If they added keyboard & mouse support then I'd probably buy it because the story looked a bit interesting but the controls are just too annoying.

The sad thing is a shitload of fanboys that have never played an RTS will be spouting 'LIKE ZOMG HALO INVENTED THE FPS AND THE RTS!!'

Thats the adapter thing isn't it? Hmm, might be worth a shot I suppose, could make the game fun. Do they work well?
And yes, there'll be plenty of n00bs who'll eventually accuse C&C 3 of ripping off halo wars and hopefully they'll be ripped a new one by people with a sense of history, it's only fitting

I think a second one's been made, but I'm not sure. I hear that it isn't very good with the x/y axis.

I was a fan of Ensemble Studios for Age of Series. But this game is really not good. Microsoft killed the Ensemble for Halo franchise for me.
